we all forgive this person. we did already. we need to know who it was. they have no right to be hidden. mods are not allowed to hide information that affects the whole site
Yes they do, it was a mistake and this person requested their identity be kept hidden. Lucid was willing to forgive this person and allow them to continue moderating.
The story changed because the first theory was based off of a coincidence.
Initially, my thought was that ABC or Rednose sent a hidden link PM to a few moderators that got their passwords somehow. The timing of this coincided with right around when all the reports went missing. Given that I trust the mods not to willingly give their passwords away to either of these two, a hidden link seemed like the most likely theory.
Fast forward a bit to yesterday, I was mulling over some other things I had heard, and given what had happened (kylehlp getting denied his trophy, all of the lolwot/anthony/reeses/delicate vios and corresponding reports disappearing, the OPI background), I realised that it was weareking and that he had gotten access to this mod's account. Weareking isn't a hacker and I figured out how he could've gotten into this person's account and had access. I'd compare it to the Trojan Horse, if anything.
I'm respecting this person's wishes to keep the exact details private, but I will assure you that this isn't something that would simply happen without you actively making a decision that could lead to it. There wasn't a hidden link, phish, or any sort of malicious thing. The door was left open and he took the opportunity to walk right in to cause trouble.
If this person wishes to come forward and explain further, I'll let that moderator do it.
your story is so inconsistent all the way and we demand a full report on this. hiding things from us is not going to go well. keeping everything secret is not fine. what if they have our passwords already and are not doing anything so that we dont find out they do. what if they get passwords even if we change. your assurance means absolutely nothing until we have solid evidence of everything.
that person requesting to keep his identity does not mean a thing. it has direct impact on us. We all are users of this site. that person has no right to special treatment. that person has no right to hide. as a user of this site i need to know if that person is telling the truth. i want to investigate myself. whether there was any hijack or anything else. lucid being informed does not mean anything. the impact was on us and any of our passwords can be in danger. if that user ever gets hold of my password for example-- since it was a mod-- a mod might take my password for investigation purpose as it has happened many times. i have given my password to mods several times for several reasons. if i give my password to this mod whose account was compromised then i could be in danger. so i need to know who this user was. you can pm me if you want to hide it from others.
also initially you mentioned that it happened because he took away some scripts. but now your story is changed. i dont like this inconsistency. you have no right to hide such things from us.
mods having some confidential information isnt inherently bad
id agree with this unless the information was important for the community to hear (such as what the exploit was ((after fixed)) so that people know if they were affected)
Yeah, only one person was affected and it was an isolated thing. No one else has any reason to be concerned for the account safety (at least no more than they usually would be)
who was that person and what kind of link was it? the users need to know.
This person requests that their identity is kept hidden for now. There was no malicious link or anything like that. This was more like the Trojan Horse than anything else.
Lucid's been informed of everything and knows what happened.
