Yeah, I'm saying that our society is sexist, so most people consider women inferior to men (personally I'm not sexist and I'm against every form of discrimination). Women are limited in politics, in jobs, in television, at school, but the point is that women are seen as different people. That's wrong, men and women are equal. Really. There's a big work nowadays to make womens condition better, but I don't see big changes, and scandalously in 2014 there are still so many sexist stereotypes. (Now I'm talking about women, but this discourse is valid for every discrimination)

Also women aren't a minority group in sense of numbers but rather due to the fact they don't have the same level of power & privilege as males.

I find it thoroughly amusing that the people taking offense and discussing this are mostly male (sorry josh you're included here, you non-conformist). like i just got out of the ocean and y'all still saltier than me.
I ain't even salty, I'm just thinking how you can't really say the word insultingly without it raising feelings of femininity as a negative and considering how language shapes thought it's a bit of an issue.
How can you consider women a minority social group? Are we still in middle ages? Anyway the n-world is not accepted just because it's racism, and in our times there's no tollerance for racism. For the b-world it's acceptable just because people don't care about women. Imo people shouln't see racism everywhere.

Women aren't even a minority. They are seen by some as less superior than men, but there is not a significantly higher amount of males than females on earth.

I don't think it's ok to the use the B-word but I routinely use it because I am a massive hypocrite so shrug.
I fail to understand the purpose of these discussions. Why would you want to use the n-word.
Hand-translating the Ilias is actually more fun and useful than this. And since I suck at old Greek and since there are tons of translations already, you can imagine how not-fun and useless it is.
The B-word is often used in a lighter context (not offensively), so it's more socially acceptable. On the other hand, I have met people that were seriously offended by the C-word, and treated it with the same severity as the N-word.
I mean yeah it'd be great if everybody could be sweet and kind and respectful to each other all the time but we're not and if we start taking "B" away from people, odds are something even worse will take its spot. every group of people has a set of degrading words assigned to it. sometimes you have to pick your battles.

Women make 25% less than men for doig the same job, but black people get just as much in the monthly welfare check as white people
If slaves didn't care about being slaves, would it be OK to continue the practice of slavery?
did you really compare the B-word to humans enslaving other humans?
It's analogous to the extent that in both scenarios you are leveling essentially degrading people who don't consciously feel that they they are being degraded. But welfare and dignity don't belong strictly in the conscious domain.
