yeah, haven't seen a whole lot of those but The Prestige and Twelve Monkeys are great movies

Lemme know how you find them. I'd also want to add Fifth Element, Twelve Monkeys and Schindler's List.
Seeing as you're in to your Miyazaki, which I cannot fault you for, there are some anime suggestions which have similar feels, like Hoshi o ou kodomo, Hotarubi no Mori e, Metropolis (2001) and Paprika. There are other Animes with similar impressions, though I don't really rate them (Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and Origin: Heroes of the Past to name a few).
Though, if you like anime/manga in general, then I'd definitely suggest Ninja Scroll, X, anything by Satshi Kon, Ghost in the Shell, Akira and Sword of the Stranger.
Generally, I try to avoid mixing anime/manga suggestions with typical movie suggestions as it's far too subjective. Not to mention that 99% of anime/manga is total ***, so most people would discredit your opinion based on their previous experience with the genre.
