They didn't have eBola back in 8th century it wasn't all bad
We need to do a nuclear strike against their HQ city Raqqa, Syria.
It would absolutely annihilate one city and they would become afraid of another one. Can you imagine the civilians' thoughts when they realize their 8th century trash beliefs would crumble to 21st century modern weaponry?

As a general contribution to the conversation, I think ISIS is the result of an area of the world that has fallen out of favor desperately yearning to be the pinnacle of civilization again.
Regardless of your opinion of Islam, it is an undeniable fact that it rallied the Quraysh tribes and eventually nearly the entirety of Semitic people in the region into a military force capable of defeating the Byzantine Empire.
Under the Abbasid Caliphate in Baghdad, Middle Eastern culture was the paragon. ISIS is a flawed and naive attempt to rally the Middle East in a similar fashion.

In Layman's terms: ISIS wants the restoration of a literal Caliphate and they want to fortify the 7th century interpretation of Islam as the only one. They are not a political group with some political ulterior motive. Any political activity ISIS engages in is in order to establish their long-term goal of an absolutism rule under a Caliph

This is probably the stupidest thing I've read in a while and also grossly ignorant of what ISIS actually is. It is NOT a "political group based in a religious culture". That definition could be applied to a lot of actual political groups in the middle east, but certainly not ISIS. That is absolutely and axiomatically incorrect.
ISIS believes in Islam taken completely literally. What ISIS is doing is applying the ideology that Mohamed used as a means of revolutionizing the Quraysh tribes of Arabia to contemporary society. This is evidenced by ISIS burning down museums containing revered artifacts, because they equate them to the archaic pagan idols of the pre-islamic Kaba.
Again, pretty much everything you said was freaking stupid and I hope you are trolling because I don't want to believe in that kind of ignorance.
You're not arguing against faith, you're denouncing "religion". The problem against a logic based faith system is that humanity as a whole is too stupid individually to grasp it or make meaning out of it and the people advocating for it are too petty and immature in their own faith to embrace "religion" or guide humanity into their "faith".
I.e. this thread about a POLITICAL group based in a religious culture has turned into a circle jerk denouncing religion in support of styles the proclaimers are too immature in to actually guide anyone into.
actually, faith is not tied to religion. While scientific evidence backs up claims, we take it on faith that the evidence backing up the claim is real, we take it on faith that the claim is in fact backed by the evidence.
