- -Sided with village
- -Chooses a PR during the day
- -That night, meets with chosen PR, similar to jailer. PR's identity remains anonymous, as does the reporter's.
- -PR still votes their night actions in the normal fashion.
- -If PR is one of several who all meet at night, they remain in the PR meeting, and only the reporter can see the chosen person's text, and vice versa (so nobody else in the PR meeting will see what the reporter has typed).
- The idea is, after N1 (since they can't meet N1, the PR has to be chosen during the day) the reporter can anonymously meet with PR's. The PR's can out their reports for previous nights through the reporter, or doc can say who they visited, etc.
- This role is meant to emulate the way the press uses anonymous sources. Since the anonymity is two way, it's possible for maf to cc reporter and either try to guess prior reports or fake them. Since the meeting is anonymous from both sides, this will force PR's that know the claims are fake to out.
- Additionally, the reporter can share reports between the PR's while keeping all their identities a secret. This way if a PR is clear and another PR is cc'd, if the reporter shared a report that a cc can verify, this can potentially clear that cc.
- -Yak issues?
- In games with yakuzas, if a PR is yakk'd, they would still have to meet with the reporter. There might have to be a message/report at the beginning of the night meeting telling the player they are meeting with the reporter; if not, the reporter could just lurk and read what the yakk'd PR is saying to their fellow mafs. If they are also given a message that they are meeting with the reporter, they can attempt to feed the reporter misinformation. They would basically have to not talk to their maf buddies, but the maf buddies should be able to quickly realize their partner is meeting with the reporter, and can suggest disinformation for him to tell the reporter.
