Kingmaker
  • Kingmaker is a town aligned role. Every night, they MUST select someone to give a crown to. The following day, people may only vote if they have a crown. The Crown may be stolen by the Thief, and is removed at the end of the lynch (when a new crown must be given). Obviously, if the Kingmaker is killed, then the day after the existing crown expires, all votes are restored to their normal order.
  • Kingmaker may not crown themselves.

This looks very interesting. I'd love to see how it would actually work.

Raikaria, that's the entire point of a Kingmaker game. Go look it up. It's a real role in a variant style game. Also, dismissing a role on the grounds of "Someone somewhere might be bad at making setups" is a poor way to judge a game. Would you dismiss the Granny role because someone might put them in a game with Cult?

puddiouddi, if there is only one Kingmaker in the setup, yes. You could actually add several Kingmakers to add more votes. The idea behind this variant is that the Kingmaker must be on the lookout for towntells, and good scum readers. They want to pick people who will pick scum. Meanwhile, the day game changes, as the only tool you have is your ability to convince the King to agree with you.

No. Shutting everyone else out of the game? No way. It's also not exactly town. Give a fool the crown. Auto fool win. And it's a MUST, not a maybe.
