Lawmaker
  • -At the end of each day, after initial 'lynch' voting is complete, the Lawmaker will select one player. This choice will be revealed to the rest of the game, who then vote on whether or not they believe the law should be created for the given person.
  • -In this process, the Lawmaker's name is not given away.
  • -A law makes it illegal to affect 1 member of the game (by name). Killing can, of course, still occur, as the mafia don't play by the rules! However, the Doctor cannot heal them, the Body Guard cannot protect them, the Gunsmith cannot gun them, the Black Smith cannot vest them, etc.
  • -For the vote on the law, players are not revealed, but the total number of yes (yay) and no (nay) votes are displayed as they are chosen.
  • -Once a player votes, he/she may not withdraw or change the vote.
  • -The Lawmaker's vote does not count.
  • -The law only comes into effect the night immediately the day of the choice, if the law is voted through.
  • -If the law is not voted through, nothing happens and the game proceeds to night.
  • -Sided with the Town.

v Hmm. You should probably emphasize more the sided that prevents mafia from receiving town benefits.

Okay, to answer your questions
1. Yes, killing roles may still affect the targeted person
2. No, it does not protect from other visiting mafia roles
3. To clarify, I made this role so the Lawmaker could try and discover a mafia/third party role/cult so he could stop the town from gunning, vesting, healing, etc.. It would keep these useful items away from the mafia, but only if the lawmaker and the other players guess correctly!
Also, a possible scenario: You have 2 cop claims, and the lawmaker decides to make a law against one. If that one is maf, great! You've just kept the mafia away from supplies (so if they end up with a gun, you know something is up). However, if you actually hit the real cop, the mafia will know that the cop is now unprotected and an easy target if they so wished. This keeps the Lawmaker from becoming too OP, and also adds a sense of strategy, instead of 'random' law making.

It sound like a amusing role idea but I'm not sure what making a certain person immune to night actions of town based power roles and maybe 3rd party.

A few things come up. 1 - Do Werewolf and Killer still get to kill if they wish to? 2 - If it doesn't protect from Maf night kill does it protect from other visiting maf roles. 3 - If not the only real target worth voting on is a granny, town would die anyway. I like the idea of a lawmaker role I just don't think this could be implemented as it is now.

Please feel free to criticize away, but please offer a possible change if there is something you don't like! This is my first role suggestion on Epicmafia, so I'm sure there are a slew of problems. Suggestions are always appreciated!
