Learn to overcome the crass demand for companionship. Only then will you find true happiness. Aristotle taught us that wealth alone is not the path to eudaimonia, for it is not valuable on its own but rather must be spent on valuable things. Likewise, dedication to the honorable life is a fool's errand, for it renders you dependent on the approval of others. The same holds for happiness. True happiness comes from within.
