Ohh, yeh karma. It's normal, you need 2000 points to change someone's karma, but you only need so many games to be able to have yours altered. As I recall it used to be 20 games, but I think Lucid lowered it to 10.

BTW, was the version of mafia you mention in your profile Cry Wolf? I saw you mentioned it on forums.

But yeh, there's definitely situations where claiming is bad, but never doing it isn't really playing towards win condition, just due to the way EM is played. It's a different in culture I guess, cuz in alot of ways EM is really different from other Mafia games.

That's a good point, and I shouldn't have threatened to suspend for play style variations. In general in most situations though with uncced cop it's probably best to assume the cop isn't failing, and that when they ask for a mass claim that they're doing it to out mafia, since there'll be CCs. Here on EM it's just generally assumed that a mass claim is the better strategy, since invariably maf is forced to counter claim. There's situations, like say, if you suspect cop is dead and janned, where it would be absolutely horrible to mass claim. But if you never do it people will assume you're scum a lot and lynch you.

As for the rules, well, they're more or less guidelines. Mods have discretion to some extent in deciding upon enforcement of them and the exact details of what constitutes what.
