There is a weird overrepresentation of non-hetties in the epicmafia main lobby moderator team / site moderators. Is it because the straight people are too busy raising their children? I guess it doesn't stop Charley.
Although most of this stuff shouldn't be discussed on EM in the first place, this thread was made in good intentions to celebrate pride month. Can y'all please take it elsewhere, preferably off of EM.

people who are trans are more likely to suffer from mental health issues due to the way that society treats them. transitioning isn't a "cure-all" method.
however, transitioning has been shown to be effective at enriching the lives of many trans people while lowering rates of suicide/depression/etc
There's a deeper issue than that. Depression and suicide and self harm tends to persist after a transition.

the only medically recognized and effective treatment for trans people is to allow them to transition. classifying gender incongruence as a sexual health issue lets them get the treatment they need.
having a problem with allowing trans people to transition sounds a lot like a personal problem to me.
I'm not sure what you mean. Transgender seems to be a better example of mental disorder than just about anything else in the whole book. Your mind is shifting its perception in the order of your genetic makeup. If you just look at the symptoms, too, there's a substantial amount of depression and suicide and self harm that goes along with it. I think they need help. Saying everything's hunky dory with them disencourages treatment (antipsychotics and what have you).
the WHO has declassified being trans as a mental disorder because it isn't one. however, they now classify "gender incongruence" as a sexual health issue. this was designed to make insurance companies cover transition costs without having the patient be deemed as mentally ill.
