Can we change the number of rounds inbetween which a set up can be comped? I believe right now any setup can be comped as long as it has not been comped for three weeks, which is fine.
I have a suggestion though. What if we make the top played setup of that round not be able to be comped for an extra round..i believe this will help break the seemlessly never ending cycle of tsib, fj 2, cba, and jatw.
It gets super annoying that these setups hold a stranglehold over the competitive scene and I believe my suggestion may help add some diversity to comp.
We're en route at this rate in having tsib, CBA, and fj2.0 overwhelm every round unless something gets changed. The past two rounds, no setup was even close to being played as much as cba and fj2.0 and I reckon it'll be the same this round with tsib in the mix.
I don't mind it being changed the way D3x describes but the same setups being comped is not an issue. The issue is that trophy winners want to comp their setups, then one of them comps Janitorial and neither of other setups are being played. I would appreciate an idea that would require playing more than 1-2 setups to win a trophy.
I also wouldn't mind having a set rotation of setups so that you know what is going to be comped and when. Just make sure the setups aren't paired with the same ones over and over again. This would be for 3 of the 6 setups in the round (it would include the setups that get comped the most only), and then each winner would still be able to pick one setup each outside of that pool.
It used to be if a setup got under 20 plays then you didn't need to wait any amount of time before comping it again.
This has always been a cycle, people complain about the same setups being comped, then new ones get comped, people complain about those ones being comped after 20 or so rounds, etc. The circle of life setups.
What if each trophy winner comps 3 setups (or N setups, where N > 1), and each day, only 1 of each trophy winner's setups is playable, and then cycle? This is a variant of an idea suggested by someone else.
Or just let people choose 2 setups and if a setup gets played under a certain percent it can be comped again without penalty... seems more reasonable to me. If a setup gets comped and played 2 times in 1000+ games it shouldn't be uncompable for 3 whole rounds
This, and also the fact that half the setups that get comped usually aren't played anyways, and then put on the bench for 3 rounds. Avoids that problem as well.
Also if we want to try something new we could comp 3 setups for days 1-5 and 3 setups for days 6-end
It means you need to play good at 2 setups to trophy and it doubles the effective number of setups players play in comp since 90% of players play one setup only.
just remember it doesn't hurt to try new things, and if the results arn't satisfactory we can always go back.
EDIT: I thnk its very important we do discuss this as a community b/c there are many good setups that died along with the user base that played them..these setups were successful before and can be again.
