I'm Japanese, so I would carefully say that I think I've seen my fair share of cultural misappropriation during my time. Nowadays I think pretty much anything Japanese can be made into a meme, and I think that's all funny and dandy. In the context of making jokes, foreigners attempting to converse in broken Japanese, or just pointing at certain things and saying it's Japanese is completely fine and honestly I don't see a point in taking offence over those things.
Now what I find that can get rather annoying is when people approach me solely because of my ethnicity or starts telling me how they're living "the Japanese life" based on most commonly, information they've gathered from watching anime or other pop media.
I mean, in a sense they're probably just living in a way where they think is ideal which is cool and all but sometimes, some more realistic knowledge of the actual culture is really appreciated. I cannot recall how many times I've had to tell somebody that no, I'm not obligated to sleep on the floor and sometimes actually getting yelled back at
what does personality posturing on epicmafia do for you
I'm going to assume that you're referring to what my Epicmafia persona does for me. Well, in reality I've got to admit pretty much nothing. Sure, the site has showed me some sides of people where I perhaps would not have noticed within real life contexts but other than that I can't say that it particularly benefits me.
I much more enjoy talking to people one on one, face to face. I love listening to people talk and observing the small gestures they unconsciously do, etc etc. I would offer to "Guess" their background, ideals, beliefs etc based on our conversation and their body language. It's a pretty fun process when you convince people to unknowingly alter their perception of their experiences to fit into what you're offering.
I believe myself to be a part of the human race, given that I have seen pictures from sonic scans from until I was born.
The people around me who had supposedly witnessed my "Birth" under the assumption that I am indeed human, also have provided me with non-contradictive statements for as far as I am aware.
I have been injured and have seen blood coming out from the wounds. To make sure it was not some kind of man made fluid that makes me believe in my human identity, I had provided a sample to an agency that had no afflictions with anyone I know under the cover story that it was for a DNA test.
I am currently positive that I am human, but if I discover anything fishy I'll keep you updated.
you see? that's exactly what a robot would you say. a human would talk about their emotions or how the air and the wind feels on their skin. but instead you talk about blood??? wew sounds manufactured to me tbh
