New Roles

Hello everyone! I would like to ask the people who are interested in this event to participate and contribute as much as possible.

In order for 2 new roles to be added to em, the community has to work together to refine the ideas that are going to be mentioned below. We have to collectively select 2 of the best ideas and make sure their version is the best one possible. The next step would be to come up with some sort of artwork for the selected roles. Lucid mentioned something about rewarding the users behind the artwork that would get selected in the end for those 2 roles.

Jack the Ripper (originally Hypocrite)

Jack the Ripper hates anyone who kills.
Jack the Ripper only wins when the game ends and all murderers are dead.
If Jack the Ripper receives a gun or knife and kills someone with it, he will not consider himself a murderer.
To Jack the Ripper, murderers are killing roles or any other player that has successfully eliminated someone else (shot, stabbed, blown up, etc.)
If a player survives one of these actions, Jack the Ripper will not consider the attacker a murderer. (~Jennings)

Cat Lady

Chooses one player every night. The player is instantly alerted that a cat is at their door. They have two options: Kill the cat, and let it go. If you kill the cat, you are roleblocked and the Cat Lady doesn't know who was visited. If you let it go, the Cat Lady learns your role.
Sided with the mafia. (~Her)

Robinhood

Visits two people, taking all items from the first and giving them to the second (cannot visit self either way)
Action fails if trying to steal from a mafia
Sided with the village (~Torreador)

Vice President

If the president dies, takes their place
All townies immediately receive a message of their new president
Attends mafia meetings, and makes them anonymous
Cannot win if they are the vice president (~Alyssa)

Gossiper

Chooses one person every night.
Will see some whispers this person receives/makes.
Gossiper's action does not count as a visit.
Sided with the mafia. (~Soluciones)

(revising) the Seer

Knows all mafia from the beginning of the game.
If lynched at the end of the game, the last mafia can guess who the Seer is for autowin.
If the Seer dies, they will appear as a random (non-mafia) role in the setup and their will will always be blank. If dead, the mafia can still attempt a guess to the Seer's identity at the end of the game.
If there are multiple Seers in a game, only one Seer will know the mafia at any given time.
If there are two mafias and multiple Seers, the knowledge of the mafias will be split between them.

Whistleblower

Once per game can force someone to vote someone else. Vote cannot be OT'D if it is a hammer. Sided with maf (Will create more tension in selfing/hammering based setups (~Moldyches)

Soldier

If they are the last man standing against a single mafia or third party, the village wins.

PowerTown

Each night chooses a power role from the options provided to him. (the mods should determine the list)
Night meeting goes accordingly
Sided with the village

Each night chooses a mafia role from the list.
Night meeting goes accordingly

First of all though, a player that is given a bomb vest, or that gets the bomb role, has to pick a colour wire at the start of the game. This is their defusal wire. They can pick from red, blue, yellow, green, or black.

Defuser

- Sided with Mafia
- Visits one person every night
- The defuser is offered a list of wires to cut. They can choose one wire to cut per visit.
- If Defuser picks the wire the bomb chose as their defusal wire, the bomb is defused.
- If Defuser picks the wrong wire, the bomb is not defused.
- If Defuser picks two wrong wires, the bomb explodes, killing both.
- If Defuser visits a player who either has no bomb vest or isn't the bomb, he gets the wire menu but nothing will happen regardless of what he picks.

Daytime messages:
Successful defusal - You defused the bomb!

Unsuccessful defusal - You chose the incorrect wire! The bomb became unstable!

Defusal attempted on a non bomb - You found a dud!

There should be a role like this for mafia and town imo. Town can be called defuser or bomb squaddie. Mafia should be Bomb Expert or Explosives

EDIT this shouldn't be too hard because lots of roles have drop down menus. My other idea was both bomb and defuser have to pick a wire at same time like gambler, but then bomb can change their pick up all the time

i don't get the mayor, but i like the convert to bomb idea. perhaps it should be an item that gets planted on the person rather than an entire role conversion

I like YOUR idea DarkB! That would be amazing if it would be implemented into the game because it would be able to make the game more chaotic.

dunno if randomness is the way to go. i suggest if the defuser is the only person who visits the bomb at night
or
if the bomb is saved, they learn who tried to defuse them
the idea holds water though, i like it

A bomb defuser is a brilliant idea. I think they SHOULD be given a message.

Bombsmith (I actually don't like that name)
- Visits one person every night, that person receives a vest and is turned into a bomb.
- Sided with Village.

Defuser
- Visits one person every night, if that person is a bomb or has received a bomb vest it is diffused.
- Sided with Village.

Also, I don't think the Bombsmith's vest should make it clear if that person has got a bomb vest OR a blacksmith vest (obviously it would be clear if there was only one of them in the game). And if the Defuser goes on the Bombsmith, the vest that is given that night is already defused but the receiver is still informed they have been given a vest.

We need a bomb defuser role actually

Maf sided, can pick a player to defuse at night. If he picks the bomb, gets a message in day saying "You have defused the bomb"

If he picks a non bomb role, gets a message saying "You have failed to defuse the bomb"

Once bomb is defused, can be killed safely.

I don't know if bomb needs to get a message saying "You have been defused"

Also not sure if there needs to be a limit to the number of defusals. Maybe you get two tries and if the second one doesn't work you blow up.

Nah, that gives out a bomb that can be passed around - this role would turn them into a bomb. Imagine if they turned the Cop into a bomb, and there were Cop ccs and Sheriff shot the bomb'ed Cop and blew up too omg

if the game doesn't have any alive roles with a night action, itll just skip over the night by itself...

Goader

- Third party.
- Gives out guns.
- Has a vest.
- Wants the person they gun to shoot them.
- Wins if they're shot twice by the ones they gun.
- Loses if lynched.
