because nothing is permanent. everything on this earth has its expiry date, websites are no different. youtube, twitter, google - before long all shall be ancient relics, snapshots of an era once gone. our lives, too, will culminate in a pile of dust, yet our legacy shall remain in the minds and hearts of those we once touched and moved and loved and hurt.
epicmafia may be dead, but it will live on in our memories - the bare bones mafia website that inspired love, treachery, friendship - that safe haven just to escape the ills of the real world for a little while, to make life-lasting friends, even for a few lucky individuals the opportunity to find their soul mate.
we may go onto greener pastures, bigger and better things, forgetting all about this tiny corner of the internet, but we will never forget the impact it had on us - the people we met, the lessons we learned. one thing's for sure, when i leave this physical body i'll be waiting up there for you all so we can reunite, and play that big mafia game in the sky, just one last time.

oh, yeah, i mean ranked kind of sucks arse because there's always one or two setups that get played ad nauseum idk though, classic epic mafia and current epic mafia are two entirely different beasts it used to be you could fill 25p unranked games in main i spent most of my time back in '13-'15 making up new setups and playing them unranked
now not only is ranked all you can play, but ranked is extremely formulaic
And yet, the repetition of certain setups has been criticized ever since Sandbox got hooked on an "official" setup and Competitive lobby got merged with Training.
EpicMafia is incredible because it's almost 100% modular. However, we tend to stick to the formulas that work for obvious reasons, and then once we find out which formulas work, then we're less likely to try out new things in fear of being chastised for it not working.

i mean the cool thing about epic mafia is that, like most multiplayer games, it's extremely replayable
generally you don't just start disliking epic mafia if you ever really liked it to begin with, not due to anything mechanical, anyway
the userbase has gotten increasingly toxic in the last few years, though, which is negatively affecting the game's quality
Users also eventually get sick of the same game after the thousandth time and find other things to do. I mean whatever your reasons were u were gone for a year
too bad that there's hardly any advertising to bring in any new users, and any new ones that do join are met with hostilities meaning the user numbers aren't really replenishing
It's not entirely clear. The most recent event that siphoned off a lot of players was when Lucid banned European IPs due to the GDPR bill passing in the EU. Europe is now unbanned, but the damage has been done because the ban lasted for a month.
