is it okay for someone to have a crush on their cousin or even make out with their cousin? like, brother/sister and parent/child are messed up, but two cousins are not related by blood so why should it matter?
I mean that if you meet them way later on in life it doesn't really matter morally, as long as you don't have children. It'll gross me the hell out, but morally it is neutral.
Why? Because incest is illegal due to the extreme from-birth grooming that can happen, and also because of the inherent power imbalances that can occur. It's also illegal because of the risk of inbreeding.
If none of those things are possible due to being separated at birth or whatever, then one can really have no objection other than "it's gross, there's many fish in the sea, stop f*cking your cousin."
Like I said, I personally still think it's gross, but in terms of morality it's sadly neutral.
