no one should have to explain to someone why they are affected by a word and it certainly doesn't hurt you to stop using it around them

i have a question. why is the sky blue instead of purple?
Blue light is scattered in all directions by the tiny molecules of air in Earth's atmosphere. Blue is scattered more than other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. This is why we see a blue sky most of the time.
I actually didn’t even know it was a bad word until (I swear to god ) I saw an episode of jersey shore In 09’ when Ronnie called Sam a c’nt and everyone was like OHHH he used the “c” word and I legit got 2 weeks had no clue what the bleeped our word even was
@ImScummy I was kinda joking, my character on this forums as the token black man is to take as many digs as I can at white people - I meant people in general within North America find the word really offensive . I live in Canada and never understood why it’s such a powerful word.
F@ggot, , n*gger etc I understand .. this one I honestly never got.
Maybe cus those ones were used to marginalized groups whilst this one is just used as “super btch”

D3xTr0m3th0rph4n, are you being serious or are you just joking? If you aren't, I'm a black girl and I don't appreciate being generalized. Same to OP; why are you specifying white people? I haven't really seen white people get more offended at that word. It's not like "dirty jew" or "n*gger" where it specific to a group
.
Anyways, OP, some people find it more offensive because it's just a harsher insult. There's tiers to insults, like from "ur a weenie" to "you're a jerk" to "you're an a*ss" to "you're a c*unt".
Why is the male equivalent, d*ick, less offensive to people? I don't know. Perhaps it's because it was used more as a joke insult at first and eventually got more powerful, while c*unt has been an insult from the very start, way back in proto-Germanic times.
This of course applies to the US because if you go to the UK and Australia it's not that taboo at all. Am I offended by it? Not really, it just depends how you use it.
