I've noticed from people chatting in games that a disproportionate number of people from epicmafia seem to Have the Bitcoins. Maybe it's because our userbase is disproportionately 2010's internet frequenter weirdos who also maybe buy drugs online.

Post here if you are a fellow Bitcoin Haver.

well yes but that doesn't mean it's -just- a bubble

If I wanted to invest an incredibly small amount of money in XEM because I'm a poor American college student who works 50 hours a week to pay his way through school, is it worth it? Like 50-100 bucks?

In your case I would recommend ripple which is a fairly stable crypto currency with real world application

can you eli5 what the advantages of ripple/XEM are over other cryptocurrencies? also wasn't ripple made by the guy behind the mount gox thing

The value backing of all the important cryptos is actually real it's the very likely promise that, using the technology they're based on, lots of infrastructure will get more efficient when the tech matures.

But also it's in a bubble because no one knows the really right way to implement it just yet and every crypto-currency with value now is just an iteration.

BEING decentralized, there's no -one- person who benefits more than everyone else from the boom in bitcoin. and it's more than a hot new trend, because there are logical reasons to take it seriously. People who realized that early on are reaping the benefits now lol

the price clearly hasn't stabilized yet but that doesn't mean bitcoin is going to suddenly lose value and be completely forgotten (or at least the concept behind it)

that was closer to me trying to look smarter than i am so you can tease me for that one if you so desire

it has genuine potential as a concept. It subverts banks' and the government's control over currencies (which could be life-changing for people in countries where inflation is most severe) and the blockchain has applications outside of currency, too (see: ethereum)

XEM will problably reach 1$ quite soon aswell, but I cant buy that due to most markets being overloaded of all the new people investing. Crypto is going wild rn.

I understand that it’s in a giant bubble right now but you honestly can’t go wrong with what to invest in considering the market booming like crazy. Just don’t invest into any crowdfunding scams like Bitconnect and your good.

Thats what I've thought about bitcoin from the start. But look at it now.

With the infrastructure projects such as Central Ring Road and the growing residential market in Moscow they already know there’s a demand and they have a very attractive supply that will both help boost Russia’s gdp. This isn’t just a fantasy they are just choosing to raise the money for the investment through the block chain technology.

All jokes aside though I bet sandcoin is a good bet because The Kremlin is promoting cryptocurrency in order to mediate the damage of sanctions.

The way I see it, its a banana economy within the cryptocurrency altcoins selling sand to russia, which will supposedly buy it from a source of money that isnt there to begin with. How long do you see this holding? I mean, it wont be the first time somebody tried to invade into a failed economy with a new value coin in order to make it work better.

I don't know a lot about cryptocurrency (or anything at all really) but what I do know is that A. Russia is backing cryptocurrency in order to mediate sanctions to an extent most countries are not, B. They are not a failed economy and C. The idea of the cryptocurrency representing a real world value is a pretty good one, despite the hilarity of the chosen real world value being sand.

You know how there was the gold standard in America for a while?

Well get ready for the SAND STANDARD.

The only thing they have planned for 2020 is to open up a second quarry. They plan on buying back the sand coin in midway of 2018.

Your not seeing the bigger picture sand is a necessary resource for all building projects (houses, highways, etc etc.) the market for construction in the Moscow region is growing rapidly with the demand comes the supply Mortar sand which this team is planning on building a quarry to mine on there already 109 hectaacres they own which mind you is in a very attractive spot to develop infrastructure.

Once they start the quarry development in July the coin is going to rise easily. Consider the fact that the average market price of 1 cubic Meter of sand is $5.30 and the Coin is under a dollar right now this is a STEAL investment and I’m going to sand HODL all the way to the bank.

Right now its mostly virtual talk. On their official site, the actual sand is planned for 2020. The bubble might pop before they even have their go @ it

what are your thoughts on SANDCOIN linker

Every one of the coins that had a rise had a hype about it. Sandcoin's attempt at it is the fact its no longer entirely virtual. The fact that, this is the entire basis to it ( unlike IOTA's rather predictable rise after the security restructure to the blockchain and the microsoft pre-purchase indications ) makes the investment rather unstable, which isnt neccessarily bad.

The investment plan I have is ~100$ in each currency i believe holds a chance, capping at 20-30 different coins. I think one of them will do a spike high enough to make that money worth it as a whole, and while the entire cryptocurrency field is in a big bubble as it is, the risk is one im willing to take.
