We have been getting a lot of questions about the BenKenobi ban and we just wanted to make a thread to clarify the circumstances of the ban.
He has received 8 violations in Main Lobby ranging from HC to Spamming to Trolling to Copied Mechanics to Lobby Camping and is currently banned there. Furthermore, we have gotten many reports from people complaining about the aggressive and overly offensive language that BenKenobi has been using in chatrooms and in games in the Survivor Lobby. Our first and foremost goal as moderators of the Survivor Lobby is to make the Lobby a fun and safe place for people to play in and BenKenobi was actively toxic and against all of these values. As a result, because of his actions in Main Lobby and Survivor Lobby, the Main Lobby moderators decided to siteban BenKenobi, an action which we support as well. Ben will no longer be able to play in the Survivor Lobby or Main Lobby, but he is free to play in Sandbox.
Finally, I'd like to thank the main lobby moderators for working closely with us for the past few months. They've been extremely helpful and we really appreciate their help.
Fair point, but with Ben, since his attitude was so negative, would it be plausible that my first instinct wasn't to ask him about his name, or even make his acquaintance?

I mean I think this is a bit inappropriate for a mod to say.... but I think it's best if we just locked this thread and dropped it until the mods reply with whatever it is they're discussing?

Ben (Lelenaschild, yeah I know your first name so I know you) your angle here has more holes than swiss cheese. I get that you're saying that ben(kenobi, the troll one) was treated unfairly, but I mean for the most part THIS mod people usually do what's best for the lobby. Which I'm not saying because im friends with them, trust me back when it was jason cole cammy and chris and i think im missing one when the Emmy was dylan thing happened I was mad at all of them. (More at chris which is weird). I give Rob a ton of crap but why it's focused mostly on him is kinda bull because I know it was all the mods's decision. I don't think the mods want another VWXYZ type person or Marcolemm where after giving chances and chances their time was wasted and things only got worse. If benkenobi was actually good to people he wouldn't have been banned. He made his bed and the mods decided to make him sleep on it.
Did you give him a fair warning? That's a yes or no question. You answered with "We're discussing it"

Nat's fairly inactive now, was a lot more active 6 months ago when Hardcarry was talking about golds morning games

Yes, actually we're discussing this right now. We wanted to make a more comprehensive post that isn't just written out haphazardly in 1/2 a minute so that y'all can understand our reasoning better. We think your question is very valid.

Being able to list players names counts as knowing them?
Also I definitely was playing morning games, I mean I'm GMT timezone, Nat can testify that I was around a lot in the morning in late spring through summer. I didn't get a pm.
But sure, you're probably right, Idec. The first post you made was bad, and I'm angry because I don't feel like he was given a fair chance. If you can tell me BenKenobi's real first name, I'll let it slide.
As Withered said, did he get any sort of warning at all from this community, or only from main?

To get back to the original post I was hoping plushy's question could be answered.
"when a player receives violations or warnings for their behavior, is there any kind of mod discussion with the player before the ban takes place? "
I'm just wondering if Ben received any official warnings in the Survivor lobby before being banned? I think this may be where a lot of confusion from other players is coming from. I was never a huge fan of him but I think it's important that this lobby is being fair and just and consistent with all players on how bans are laid out. (:
Now if we want to have a conversation about the BenKenobi ban itself and not an attack on the moderators of the Survivor Lobby, I'd love to participate.
