Liked the first one? It’s back for another go-round!

Steph was the big winner last time, winning over $22,000 in prizes. You could be like her and win a crapload of fake prizes… but only if the Price is Right!

Format

Bidding is retooled it a bit to make it a bit more fair. No more sign-ups—bidding is open to anybody.

You'll get 48 hours to bid on a prize. Instead of getting one bid only, you can make as many bids as you want. Just three rules:

  1. Just like an auction, you can raise your bid, but you can't lower it.
  2. Each time you raise, you must bid at least $20 more than your previous bid.
  3. When the bids freeze, only your highest bid will be considered.

After the bids are frozen, the player closest to the actual retail price without going over wins the prize and gets to play a pricing game to try to win something even better.

Four pricing games are played. The two biggest winners after four pricing games get to play the showcases. Same as it worked last time.

Rules:

  • If it’s your turn to play a pricing game and you don’t respond within 24 hours, you’ll get a prod; don’t respond within 48 hours and it’s an auto lose. So don’t do that.
  • PM me if you're going to be in the middle of a hurricane or something and can't check the thread. I'll see if I can help you out, although I will try to keep the game moving as best it can.
  • Prices are in US dollars. Our friends outside the US may use a currency converter to help them out if they need them. (No googling the prices of prizes—that would be unfair.)
  • Audience participation is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED! Feel free to shout out suggestions in the thread.

From Tissot, this pair of his-and-her watches is Swiss made, featuring quartz movement. The women's watch features a butterfly clasp closure with push-buttons, while the men's watch has a genuine leather wrist strap and sapphire crystal face. It still won't tell the time any better than a $7.98 watch from Wal-Mart, though.

And those watches go to the one of you who bids nearest to the actual retail price without going over.

There's an image higher up. All five dice are identical. Each die has six faces. Three sides are cars, one is 500, one is 1000, and one is 1500.

The fact that Lekku rolled three 500s but only one car is just sheer dumb luck.

Judges say you can only freeze cars, not money cubes. If you're going to roll, you have to roll ALL non-car dice.

(goes to random.org and randomly rolls dice. I promise I'm doing this on the up and up. Why would I cheat? It's a fake car anyways.)

Now, Lekku, as I said it takes five cars to win. You have two rolls left. If you like you can freeze the car you have and roll the other four dice again in the hopes you can turn the other four dice into cars on your next two rolls.

But also you have a total of $3,000 in front of you. If you don't think you can do any better I'll give you the option to take the $3,000 and walk away.

48 hour deadline is up. But it would be a rotten shame to see a perfectly good car go to waste. So here's what I'll do.

LekkuLover was the next-highest without going over. If Kospice can beat LekkuLover to posting, he can stay in the game. Otherwise, LekkuLover will play for the car.

Have you ever played Yahtzee? This is quite similar. You have five dice in this giant cup. In a moment you're going to take those dice and roll them down this ramp on the table, and if you can roll five cars, you're a winner!



Take a closer look at these special dice. There's a car symbol on three of the sides. On the other three sides are $500, $1,000, and $1,500.

I'm going to give you one roll for free, but you can win additional rolls if you know a little something about these grocery items.
