Greetings, sandbox users! I'm excited to be posting here for the first time as the new owner of sandbox. I really appreciated a lot of what cub did and if you ever see her around, make sure you thank her for really transforming this lobby. With that being said, a lot of people have come to me about certain issues that they wanted addressed. Below, I've listed topics in sandbox to discuss whether or not you guys want change. Eventually, I hope this will be kinda a master thread of everything we change as opposed to a dream board.
Emotes - this has been the most requested thing so far. Everyone wants a certain emote gone, another one to come back and the idea of bringing back :rotate: has also been thrown out there. Let me know.
Support - this will be controversial. Suicide has been a huge topic on the site recently and people have reached out to me about what my plans are to get rid of this problem. Whether you agree with it or not, a lot of people emotionally rely on sandbox and when they're feeling down, it's hard to reach out outside of this community. Someone suggested we have a list of users who are available to help you out if you're having a hard time. If this is not something you're interested in, ignore it. I'm curious to see the ones who would be interested in making changes with this.
Forums - I actually don't really know if forums need any revisions or not, I think cub did a good job cutting down on the number of forums. Do you think anything is missing though?
Moderators - again, controversial. I actually don't think we need mods at this moment after talking to some previous owners, considering that they wouldn't be handling reports. This site does not allow lobby mods to give violations, suspend accounts, etc and it's really useless. I'd only enact lobby mods if the HC / harassment / spam problem becomes really excessive, specifically in chatbox, and even then it'd be one or two people in very different timezones to simply cover the job when I'm not around. One idea I've heard for mods though is a panel that acts like a "jury" in certain sandbox reports. I don't know really how I feel about it, but I'm curious to hear what you guys think.
Sandbox Setup(s) - I know Bebop recently changed the sandbox setup back in May, but I wanted to know if you guys think it has any flaws. Also, we currently have 4 openings to sticky setups and I'd love to hear if you guys enjoyed the rotating setups, or if you'd prefer them stagnant, or a mix of the two.
Just because an item isn't picked on the poll doesn't mean it will / will never be addressed. I just want to get a sense of what the sadbox community is thinking. I encourage everyone to vote / comment because if the option in first place but it's just one circlejerk and all of their alts, I may not listen to it. Also idgaf about your petty trolling and name calling, but keep it off this thread.
awful move to begin ownership but thanks for being willing to listen to the users, dooze. Seems to be a rarity these days, but it's appreciated. The way the rules are crafted or not I feel that it's fair to say that there should be immense punishment for these levels of harassment, certainly following these events.
So that was obviously an unpopular move. If I do stuff like this in the future, please speak up. Obviously true democracy is not realistic here but if a large majority of the lobby seems to be against a certain action, I will be willing to change. And the nicer we are about these, the quicker they'll move along!

if u dont want ppl to think ur an sjw, unbanning someone who told a suicidal person to kill himself isnt gonna do it, but not reporting me and others for saying right-wing opinions will do it you fkin idiot
aight friends, entil has been rebanned. thank you for speaking out on this issue and I will make sure from now on that I do the right thing over the community guidelines :)
neither of those people are sandbox users. neither of them were here the other night. neither of them are moonlight, whose feelings and state are of paramount importance on this.
not even trying to be dramatic but you've literally got people who normally make light of mental illness telling you that this guy crossed a line. staming stayed up half the night to get in contact with moonlight to make sure he was alive and well. moonlight is still a risk to himself. read his damn profile.
entil made a conscious decision to decide none of that mattered and that moonlight's mental state and life was fodder for humor and it was not. never will be.
if you don't want to keep him permabanned, fine. but almost everyone will agree that he should be gone for now, and for a while after that.
although entil is a sandbox user, this action did not happen in sandbox lobby, instead on a main user's wall. Still doesn't make it okay, obviously. It states the mod team reserves the right, so if you'd really like, I'll bring it to them and see what they say.
this is coming from someone on the site mod team, make the decision yourself. it's your lobby, not ours.

so telling a legitimately suicidal person to kill himself on your birthday is a day long ban just because you don't want people to think that you're an sjw?
jesus christ stop being so selfish
all I meant by saying that is people are going to think negatively about this no matter what. I will take rebanning him into consideration if it's something you all really believe in but I am simply following the community guidelines in the same exact way that other owners would.
and guidelines are called guidelines for a reason. they aren't 100% no-change-allowed rules. hell, if you were so familiar with the rules you're referring to you'd see the "The mod team reserves the right to issue longer bans for particularly malicious behavior." line
edit: I feel like the ban should be longer to be completely honest, but I also respect dooze's decision. The ban does acknowledge that the type of behavior exhibited is not okay, and will probably serve as a deterrent for people who might do the same. While I may not agree completely, I understand completely where dooze is coming from and I believe that all of sandbox should try to do the same. Dooze wants to make sandbox a welcoming and friendly community just as we all do. Remember that all of sandbox is on the same side here.
i think, with due respect, that you have more of a duty to serve the wishes of the sandbox community as opposed to the wishes of charley and ayd. but i suppose that's up to you.
It was my decision that they both okayed. If there was a real problem with it, site mods would've dealt with it in a way other than only banning him in sandbox. I'm simply following site protocol & community guidelines. If I kept him banned, I'd be seen as an SJW and inhibiting free speech. This was his first harassment warning. If he repeats his bad behavior then I won't bat an eye to ban him again.
Oh well, damned if you do it, damned if you don't.
so it was your bad decision and not the bad decision of charley or ayd? okay. do what you will, it's your lobby.
