it's a better thing for the individual but doesn't make them a better person and it could be argued that no person is "objectively better" than another but even without making that argument, disorders don't have to define people completely and don't have to do with being "objectively better" people
Elephantasm I'm not saying I think teasing people with autism is good, I'm just saying spergs are better than tists overall, which, argue all you want about the ephemeral "goodness" of the person, is true in a general sense.
The only full blow autistic person I would actually tease is xxerox, but that won't stop my brain from judging spergs as the favorite here.

well hopefully you wouldn't but if you tease them for being born with autism and view them as automatically inferior to everyone else then they'd probably prefer you ignore them

and I'm not saying that an autistic person and a dog are the same thing or equivalent in any way except that arcbell ostensibly views them as inferior
If someone has feelings they have a right to some level of consideration. If you saw a drowning dog, would you ignore it because it's not able to function in ways you are? If you say "well dogs aren't MEANT to be able to," you're being dumb
Ele isn't even autistic, I've clearly got her beat.

which is not a nice thing to say, in case you thought it was

If you have even some of the same issues especially that's just like ??? what's wrong with you
i'd argue it's more acceptable to tease people with aspergers than to make fun of people with actual autism because aspergers means less overall and people with autism get made fun of way more, and are probably more likely to be deeply affected by the whole "you're a bad human being" thing

having something impeding your ability to function is already enough to deal with, so why should people who are high-functioning tease people who were born with the same issues, just with higher frequency/intensity? Yes, you could argue that your entire personality is something you're "born with," (but which is obviously influenced greatly by experiences) but when it comes to things that people can't make an active decision not to do/have, that aren't hurting anyone else...
besides, just because someone has a disability doesn't mean that's their entire personality. Everyone is an individual. You can have less autism and still be a bad person, and someone who has full-blown, low-functioning autism can still be a good person.
