it's been quite a while since i was your age, and i still remember how hard it was to be that young, especially because, when i was 13, i had a MASSIVE crush on this dude i thought was super perfect (spoiler alert, he had a unibrow, but tbh when he got married last year i still felt a twinge of sadness). but let me tell you a secret...it's totally fine to be socially awkward at your age, because everyone is when they're thirteen. and that doesn't really change for most people, no matter how old you get, because nobody ever really knows what they're doing; they just get better at pretending they do.

and it sucks soo bad when it seems like nobody likes you back, and you start to wonder if you're just not good enough for people to love you, but i pinky promise you're more than good enough to be loved just as you are, no matter how pretty you think you are or aren't. besides, even if you were the prettiest person in the world it doesn't guarantee you would find love-- somebody once said that you can be the juiciest, sweetest peach out there in the world, and there's still gonna be someone who hates peaches.

all that to say, please know that it's totally normal to be thirteen and feel awkward and unattractive, but that doesn't mean that it's true, or that you'll always feel that way. and it most certainly doesn't mean no one will ever love you! some of my friends who are really and truly super weird have found someone who is just as weird as they are and now they're the happiest people in the world!
