Why is abc still banned?

over 7 years

Posting on behalf of a close friend.

abc was supposed to be fully unbanned on jan 12th 2017

https://epicmafia.com/report/195024 - date given by edark himself https://epicmafia.com/report/203711 - fnoof said edark still stood by this date

https://epicmafia.com/report/204150 - he got site banned a few weeks ago, they never gave the reason.

the last account he bypassed on Juniormafia (4 months ago)

he said he spoke to sweetnkind (a former mod during when abc got site banned) on skype and she claimed that he bypassed to have filed reports on people for main lobby games. but abc has provided a rebuttal again that and says he used this https://s3.amazonaws.com/em-gamerecords/XXXXXX (XXXXXX = game number) to spectate games.

she also claimed he added mods to addmecontacts site 1. that is offsite and therefore not against the rules. 2. abc denies that (there is no proof it was him)

also fnoof going rogue had nothing to do with abc (there is no proof of it either)

so abc has provided rebuttal against all the things thrown at him and there is no proof he did any of those. he served his 4 months time and should be fully unbanned. other people bypassed (vilden, sonseray, coryinthehouse, even me) and were unbanned at their initial unban date

on the cory unban, edark argues about leniency but here he is blatantly ignoring an actual legitimate unban case where he said he would unban a user on the date provided but is not doing so and refuses to give any reason at all

Not to troll, but honestly what you all think is justified? After all, hes a great great epicmafian. I remember someone saying "all cheaters are unbanned and even modded except the funny one"

Unban him, hes a solid player and funny to see around the site. I dont see what could go wrong. He needs to be kept a close eye on, but looking back bigpock used to be more cancerous than abc. and bigpock offers little to no problem today. Unban him, keep him on a strict set of rules.

Once someone posted here on the forums that only idiots get their account hacked. They proceeded to inexplicably delete their account over and over again a couple minutes later. It was fun times.

I mean you can block scripts to stop XSS attacks, but then have fun using this website which relies heavily on them

Ah okay. *shifty eyes*

"WAF" goes on the server, not the user, so no he cant. and the exploit that was used to take edark's account wouldn't have been denied by anything like that

Not to point fingers at Edark for allowing his account to be compromised but—you can actually easily avoid XSS attacks using a WAF (Web Application Firewall). A WAF simply inspects your HTTP traffic and determines if the site you're surfing suffers from cross-site scripting vulnerabilities; it provides optimal out-of-the-box protection against SQL Injection attacks, XSS attacks, path traversal and other web attack techniques. You can simply install a firewall addon (ex. uMatrix, ScriptSafe, ScriptBlock, et cetera.) to act as a stoppage to the aforementioned attacks. I'm certain he knows he got cranked and will be acting more cautious from now on.

I can't really give you the old fashioned beat-down you're asking for because few people besides me know who you actually are and I don't play in the minor league.

Lucid thought a bunch of the moderators were account sharing and demodded nearly everyone, so they banned ABC and said that Edark was hacked.

He got scapegoated.

I'm not saying abc hacked edark but this is false—hacked-Edark demodded all the moderators and was even injecting mod actions after post account-deletion which confirms he was hacked through angular injection via cross-site scripting (XSS).

Now for my 2c worth on abc—he's a /big bad boy/ :').
Frankly speaking from my interaction with him—he was acting out as mildly irksome intentionally to trigger jim jams albeit not doing anything over-the-top that would contravene the site rules. I think 'More ban' is a good middle ground solution.

Hypothetically speaking, if as described ITT he didn't bypass and his due date for unban has been passed then he should be unbanned.
However, in terms of pro bono publico would unbanning him cause a pandemonium among the site community? (Public relations is important and I'll leave that for everyone to decide).

If so then they are the ones to be banned. Also I dont think abc is a hacker, he doesnt even know how to IP-bypass without vpn.

How can someone that smart not know how to reset their IP address? You literally just type half of a sentence into command prompt.

I said he bypassed cuz his friend sent me chat logs of him talking about bypassing

talking about bypassing =/= bypassing.
if i was talking with a friend about killing, would it make me a serial killer?

sweetnkind says

he did put us on addmecontacts and it's retar.ded to deny that but if you're unbanning everyone else you might as well unban him too

no evidence and even if he did that, its offsite and not againt the rules. it shouldnt affect the date of unban.
