In dpicmafia at this point, there is very little support for people who speak other languages, at least from what I've seen. I say there should be lobbies made by em for people who speak different languages, and they should be publicized by the site itself. Maybe this is unnecessary, but it would help for outreach, and it would be good for people who don't want to run everything through google translate. This might not be a problem that occurs often, but its a very simple way to improve the sit. Let's have a discussion/support.
EDIT : This is a lot about the site publicizing and supporting the new lobbies more than anything else. Maybe like programming a dropdown menu to select your language. I know that people can create custom lobbies, but most of them die out very early. So ideally that wouldn't be a possibility with these lobbies. I may have messed up on the wording, main site mods won't need to enforce the rules there, maybe at the beginning until permanent mods could be assigned to those lobbies.

Lobbies for other languages created AND sponsored by the official dpicmafia moderators and site.
demodding guys who make forum descriptions into "i want this person to kill him/herself" would be good too

if you're busy here trying to make EM a better place can you, or someone else, try and think up some way to make the report system a bit better? there's a sh*tload of reports that get filed egregiously right now purely out of grudge/spite and there needs to be something to stop that because reports scare off new players.
(Irrelevant relevant topic post): Lobbies for different languages would be a feature that could work. There's no point in arguing that "there aren't many people playing epicmafia in x language so the lobby wouldn't work" because the people who speak in that language would not be playing English-based mafia in the first place. Moderation might be an issue but it will only become a problem if the lobby actually starts to grow, in which case it will have attracted SOME bilingual speakers at some point.
In fact, if there aren't many other foreign-language mafia websites, Epicmafia could get an edge on the competition in that regard (not that competition is really an issue right now).
the comp score requirement isn't bad for people who are new to mafia or here from town of salem, but i think that people who already play mafia competitively on other websites should be allowed to try gold hearts by a mod's decision
Red hearts arent a bad way to lean, but a tutorial would probably be nice. Just showing mechanics etc. Explaining how votes, kicks, and kills work. Most people are pretty smart so it wouldn't have to be anything fancy.
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime.
Unranked games aren't fulfilling their purpose of teaching.
i convened with my comp player posse and we decided that you should implement a tutorial so that new players know how game mechanics work while dropping the unranked requirement
Yo lucid. thecolonel is right. People who play unranked mafia instantly get the feeling "this is a waste of time" because people aren't serious in those games
Yeah. At this point i don't see much of any issue of unleashing new players into ranked games immediately. Moderation in red hearts is more lax now and I think it's the best way to learn. It's really hard to complete the 4 unranked games with the time requirement. Additionally, unranked games are such low quality of play that there's no learning going on. New users looking for competitive mafia are being turned away.
no unranked requirement and either a lower score barrier to comp or the ability for mods to let someone play before they hit the score. have them do that for people referred here who already know how to play mafia.
can you gather some comp players and come up with reasonable requirements?
