It looks like Epicmafia's days are numbered. While perusing reddit, I came across and ad for a new game inspired by the mafia/werewolf genre: Throne of Lies.

To quote the developers,

"We're the first 3D social deduction game and Town of Salem's only true competitor - we're both inspired by the 1986 werewolf/mafia genre, only ToS is almost identical and we're branched off quite a lot: Similar to comparing DotA 1 vs League of Legends."

The game has full 3D graphics and will be sold at the mere price of $9.99, a steal for a game that required nothing more than a chatroom in the past. I fear that this game will end up stealing what few players remain on our site, so I think all we can do it countdown the days until this competitor overtakes us.

When another game that is based off ToS but more sucesfull and better made contacts you, you have to at least hear them out.

They were in development. There wasnt a game yet. We could have shaped into our own liking, hell they could have helped EM .

I am sure Lucid would have died from happiniess to hear that he will get more money from the new game if he became part of it.

You idiots ruined the chance to bring new players or even upgrade our game.

At least you should have talked with ToL creators before baning them and deleting all comments.

I actually found that ToL is pretty much like ToS with just more things and better community.

I still view the top few reviews. Sometimes there's an important warning to get out there(like people warning devs that a game is unfinished)

Luckily, with my new favorite game Throne of Lies(tm), there is only positive because anyone with a wallet is smart enough to understand good gaming

Game reviewers don't dictate for much these days, it's more the community and streamers that will get the word out there. I mean, look what happened to the journalist that had to play Cuphead.

How much did they pay you to promote another game on this site? What they would have said if you promoted EM on their forums?

You don't have to scream that their game is the best in the world.

Just keep it to yourself. Maybe say the game is great 1-2 times. Not write long reviews.

I would never , ever play any mafia game that costs money. Especially a game like ToL.

The moment the game goes free, even for a day, i will test it and see for myself it is good or not. I have been beta and alpha tested for hundreds of games, and i know how to make proper reviews.

Any good sites know how to deal with annoying children.

The game is not worth the 9 dollars.

I play on plenty of free sites that have 1000% more mature players than TOS or EM. They are mature because the games are LONG and people have to THINK. Bad behavior is PUNISHED.

And besides, nothing stops children to pay 9$ to play on ToL.

Also, i have no 20lev to play, because it costs 20 in my country and is freaking much,

The problem is that this is just another game that uses steam and what not to make their game popular.

EpicMafia needs more players and needs to fix itself toward the current age.

EM needs to be majourly updated , and posted on Steam.

5. Community - Another huge point for Town of Salem players. Town of Salem is a FREE game. That means any child on the internet can make an account and plague your games. Especially since Town of Salem is a team-reliant game where half the town roles only have 1 ability and they must communicate to get anything done. This make the game UNBEARABLY frustrating and can honestly convert level-headed players to toxic players in no time at all.
Throne of Lies has a 9 dollar paywall to enter the game. 9 dollars is not much all, but it will block those damned little kids out. The current Throne of Lies community consists of olders players who have played town of salem and epicmafia long ago, or are just trying something new. The players are welcoming and patient. Everyone is learning! Toxicity is limited in this game simply because the game is designed so much better. Better players will win their games single-handedly, they aren't reliant on the team since every player's role has so much power.

Honestly, it is not worth it the 9 dollars.

I rather play it if it was for free. Again - I can play infinnity forum games set in infinnity ways for free. Why should i pay 9 dollars?
