In other e-communities people get "power" because they've been an influential force or a big contributor to the website - aka they have INVESTED time and effort into improving the game/site/whatever BEFORE they got modded.
I haven't stated my opinion about it I just stated a pattern that I've observed.

ive been around awhile as well, and ive seen lots of attempts to do it right, but nobody ever did it right because they didn't have the balls to. either the admin wants the site to stay as it is, or the admin is scared of the community and their own legacy being bad so they give up on their beliefs

lol there's 0 problem with mods modding friends, i didn't realize that a mafia site needed an induction system where you can only mod aimless training players and reform them into a report machine
And Stiffy is a good mod. She has a great grasp of the game. She isn't an inner circle jerk member. And she doesn't skew too far in either direction.

im talking about the rules, and the way the site is run, stop allowing all the hate, all that jazz. and honestly, the mod team is still very biased, perfectly capable people are still refused the job because of uncoolness or personal bias or whatever
the rules are a lot different now with admins like Edark and roadman than they were under admins like, for instance, Connor.
also which perfectly capable people got refused the job because of uncoolness or personal bias please provide examples
How would we know? Since there is no Feedback process to tell people why they weren't chosen? You guys ask for applications, people submit them, then if they don't get it never hear anything.
"there are good people not getting mod but i don't know who they are"
cmon
the constant people who make their voices known on the forums, people like ninja who said he wanted to mod (and there are many more) who were just straight up ignored because of not being popular enough.

Bebop when did I say I don't know who they are? I was actually referring to myself in that example.

anyone can be a good mod. it's not a hard role to undertake once you understand the rules. benjamin250 never got his deserved place
