Welcome to Forum Mafia 19: Forbidden Actions!

Game is over. Ended on Day 5

Mafia wins! This game was ranked.

The mastermind's behind this game are Gerry, Mori and myself.

The game will be played like any other Forum Mafia game, with one twist! Every player will be given an action pregame. If the action they are given is performed, they will be Killed from the game, with their forbidden action being shown afterward. More information will be given under Rules.

I. The Schedule:

72 Hour Days. 24 Hour Nights

  • If you don't submit actions by the deadline I will consider you taking no action.

II. The Set Up:

  • There is no "possible roles list". I promise not to get too crazy.

  • Mafia will have Day chat. And will know each other's Forbidden Actions

  • You will get an Alignment PM. Town or Mafia and your alignment will not change.

YOU CANNOT SHARE THIS FORBIDDEN ACTION WITH ANYONE

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Each night, one of you or your partners may perform the factional kill. You may kill and perform your role action during the same night.

You win if at least one member of your group is alive and all other players are dead (or if nothing can prevent the same)

III. The Rules:

As explained earlier, there will be forbidden actions. YOU CANNOT SHARE YOUR FORBIDDEN ACTION. If found to, you will be mod killed. If you commit the forbidden action, you will be killed from the game. You may speculate forbidden actions of others within the game. If asked whether your forbidden action is something, you cannot confirm or deny. You can also not soft or hint as to what your forbidden action is.

We also will be strict about ISP and replacements. If you think for any reason you MAY have to be replaced, do not sign up. We also reserve the right to deny anyone from joining, if we believe you will troll, isp, sub.

IV. Votes:

  • Votes must be made in the format Vote: Playername. Bolding is done using the tags [b][/b].

  • I will not take any other type of vote. If I can't tell who you're voting, I won't take it.

MOD NOTE Mori will be giving out a token prize to a player from each alignment who the hosts determined played best.

On my own team's play; I think Transcend's bussing me as SK was needless and didn't afford me any confidence from the town once he flipped mafia since I was immediately run up next. On the other hand, his way of maneuvering his forced role claim was really well done. I had a pretty weak first couple days which I wasn't able to recover from in the eyes of most people though I guess I would say I "served my purpose" as part of the team. Impoetic prooooooobably shouldn't have claimed like they did (funnily enough they asked in daychat if they should claim their role and got no reply so they just went ahead and did it; I wanted to shout no but couldn't because forbidden action) but it ended up working out well. It's a major exercise in manipulation winning when town was in borderline autowin so really well done the final day.

Idk about you guys, but I think mist did awesome. Her suicide was our (Gerry and I) favorite moment in the game. It was unexpected and just overall amazing how she came up with that.

not by a long shot. Mist wasn't present a lot early on, but their suicide to prevent me from being questioned for living when a blue was killed was very clever, and they had several bright ideas about how to get around our restrictions/how to use the mechanics to our advantage that didn't end up coming into play much but could have been helpful if they had. Their restriction kept them from preventing my slip (I asked in chat if it would be one before claiming, but Transcend wasn't around at the time and Babylonia couldn't respond) and generally just was a big thing to get around for them. They were also totally happy to let us bus them.

tl;dr considering they didn't even really want to be playing the game, their play was phenomenal.

my reads made total sense and i explained all of them. if you're good, you'd follow my reads. town didn't follow my reads. look what happened


I mean I think it's a joint blame whenever town misreads each other. Of course it all made sense from your perspective but you have to remember people are coming from a lot of different angles. Perhaps you had the logic but you didn't have the charisma and your slot ended up being lynched.

I think there's half truth to that, like yeah being able to convince people is a good trait, but there's some cases where people won't listen to you no matter how you much you explain, and I don't think that's really your loss.
