Guiser is not a competitive role, its a role for fun games with friends. Should not ever be in comp. Since when is mafia about doing impressions of other players?
You know what else has never made sense to me? Why do I have to verify who I am to pay my bills online? If someone else wants to pay my bills let them pay my bills, Century Link.
So what? The only way guiser can possibly disadvantage a player is if that player intentionally decides to disadvantage themselves. Taking away guiser is effectively taking away the option to shoot yourself in the foot. Who cares?
If you use your guise power you are either A. Stupid or B. Confirmed mafia anyway, given a snowball's chance in hell by your s.hitty power.
No one is forcing anyone to guise. If you're the guiser, you don't have to guise out. If you're not, the decision by someone else to disadvantage themselves should not bother you. It was a choice they made.
I just consider guising a really weak and completely optional mafia power. No one is forcing you to guise. I never do.
A power that is impossible to moderate. A power rhat nobody knows what is and isn't legal to deal with (proven by not even you knowing what to do with some of the scenarios)
Keep it in red hearts or unranked, keep it out of comp.

It only means nothing to you because you're not the one losing games because the person made a new table or because their BFF was in the game and caught you from the first line of the game and you had no way of knowing.
Well yeah, fair. But my indifference on the subject comes from my not wanting anything to do with playing guiser setups competitively in the first place, thus avoiding this scenario entirely.
I mean honestly, unless there's a round where the only setups being played are guiser setups, this really isn't that big of an issue. Everyone familiar with the role knows the risks of it, and leaving it up to user choice is probably the best way to go about it.
That still doesn't make it any less of a garbage role, especially with the current player base.
It's not the biggest deal but it is one that is easily fixable. People are perpetually confused as to what OGI means with a guiser and you see it every time you see a guise. It only means nothing to you because you're not the one losing games because the person made a new table or because their BFF was in the game and caught you from the first line of the game and you had no way of knowing.
I don't think banning guiser is worth banning Sex and Lies, SDS, Trust Each Other, LOBL, and all of the other competitive that use guiser.
You just replace guiser with a nilla or unimportant visiting role (so the visit element is present, useful at times).
It's not a flat out ban, it's a simple swap out.
In game text is not OGI. Guise tests and codes use meta, not OGI.
A screenshot, mentioning if someone is in another game, or changing your bio would be OGI.
So you think 4 is fair game, valid but okay.
It is impossible to regulate integrity with noticing someone is in another game. The guiser is instantly confirmed to you for no reason other than you were using the website. You know now. There's no way to unsee it. The integrity is shot. Saying you can't mention it is silly-you've already been compromised irreparably.
