i think we need a good discussion on the hijab and any other islamic apparel that is designed for "modesty"

now while i believe people should be allowed to wear what they want, we must be honest about such articles of clothing. they were introduced and used for the sole purpose of "modesty".

today's muslim women now are trying to defend the hijab.

they claim that it's their choice - which is valid. however, what it really means is that these women were most likely forced to wear the hijab since birth and have grown accustomed to it.

personally, i find islam to be an extremely problematic religion and i think this actual sexist apparel stems from it.
