I think we need a good discussion on one's suffering.
Generally, your suffering is not real nor as bad as you think it is.
There are over 7 billion humans on this planet, hitting 9 billion in a few more years. You are not a special snowflake. You are not special at all. We are smaller than grains of sand if you look at how big the galaxy and beyond are.
I remember reading this phenomenon where astronauts who look at Earth for the first time in space, they are so struck by how minuscule humans are. They realize that their "problems" aren't real problems.
as I said before: there are millions of Syrians fleeing ISIS, and trying to survive
there are still millions being born into actual slavery, but they are still trying to survive
there are still people who do not have a reliable source of water or food, but they are trying to survive
it's all a massive cover-up by the cia, just like suffering

terry loves attention he soaks it up probably cause he was neglected as a child. i would neglect my child if they were terry. i dont blame terry's mom, we all cope in our ways, and her way of coping is allowing her son to speak on the internet instead of to her.
i messed up my birth control and now im having two periods in a row instead of once a month like normal. it sucks a lot because im bleeding from my more often than i am supposed to be.
terry would you like to eat it? would you like to eat my period blood? some cultures i hear would finally see you as a man. i think its called getting your red wings or something?

IMO they should just rename north korea "sufferingstan" and get this whole mess over with
because north korea is a totalitarian regime that censors any form of free thought and is filled with absolute poverty. if caught, you are senselessly worked to death and tortured. extremely poor access to food and water.
sure, I'm creating two groups of suffering. real suffering and fake suffering
police states tend to be poverty-stricken. in the case of north korea, it is real suffering.
Is digging yourself deeper suffering Because you're doing it right now I mean it's kinda obvious people disagree with you, why try to get them to know what you're thinking when they won't accept it?
how is living in north korea "true suffering"? starvation, sure, that actually kills you so if you wanted to link suffering to mortality you could make that argument, but why is living in a police state "true" suffering if it doesn't affect your mortality?
looks like you're claiming suffering is objective and your evidence is relative suffering
because citizens of a police state have it worse than citizens of a democratic republic, they know true suffering
because middle class americans have it worse than upper class americans, they know true suffering
tell me why one of these is valid and the other isn't

[adjusts bifocals, clears throat]
[maury voice] when it comes to enduring distress inextricable from the human condition.....you are NOT the sufferer!

as the global authority on human hardship, i'm here to tell you that being abused to the point of self-endangerment or worse is a load of tumblr fueled poo poo
by the relativist's logic, starving children have nothing to complain about because they could be north korean political prisoners, and north korean political prisoners have nothing to complain about because it could always be something worse
i said in this thread that there are certain types of true suffering.
starvation, living in north korea, etc. are true suffering
im not saying that if someone has it worse than you, than you must recognize this and get over it, but i am saying that most people's "struggles" here aren't real examples of actual suffering.
tl;dr: there are real, valid examples of suffering. Most people do not have them. This is not trying to be relativist.
