so this is a thing i've kinda wanted to do for awhile and now im doing it and u gotta deal with it.

my gender identity is non-binary. you know, that thing you once saw on that one person's tumblr? that's also a thing i am. woo.

they/them pronouns would be rad, for those of u who like to ensure you're using what's preferred. for those of you who can't be bothered to switch pronouns, i won't mind if i see you still using she/her for me. promise.

if u want to ask for clarification on what this means/discuss with me my process of coming to this conclusion about myself/talk about non-binary & trans stuff in general you're more than welcome to PM/Skype/Discord me. i'd rather not discuss any of this at length in thread for reasons.

i don't want this to become another of epicmafia's famous transgender debate threads so instead i'm gonna use this thread to post gifs from /r/rarepuppers. pls enjoy.

i dunno how to answer this really? it makes me happy having a space where i feel i can be forthright with my identity and it's been on my mind a lot as of late especially so i'm doing it.

uh the circle being off center is more my poor drawing skills but i guess that's accurate anyway. i present female irl and don't mind people assuming i am female/referring to me as such there because being publicly non-binary isn't palatable for society and i have some sense of practicality. but i figure on the internet screw it, i'm gonna be my authentic self.

if you'r talking about online... plenty of both but more the former. if you're talking about irl, none of my friends irl are gay/trans/nonbinary so i've had a couple in the past.

somewhere in the 17-19 range but it mighta been sooner if i hadn't been exposed to the idea of gender identity earlier in my youth.

I understand that "non-binary" means off of the normal scale of male/female, but I don't understand what specifically off the scale is.

Is there something that better explains how you feel, or is it just "not male or female?"

for me personally, it's "somewhere inbetween". for other people, it's other stuff.

here perhaps this visual representation will help.

i am somewhere in this circle. most people feel like they're at one end of the line or the other. some people feel like they're not on the line at all and that's also cool.
