greetings epicmafia community,

I think we need a good discussion on the current situation in Turkey

Erdogan has been trying to make Turkey into an Islamic state. The military has seen itself as the secular guardian.

tbh we need less islam, especially in state affairs, so I think I am OK with this.

gulen may be muslim, but he has been an avid supporter of science and tolerance for other religions

gulen lives in the US because he was exiled from turkey

This is either the secular military deciding the president has gone too far, or an islamic extremist (Fethullah Gulen) orchestrating something much worse. We don't know yet.
