Obama forcing schools to let trans people use the bathroom and LOCKER ROOMS of their self identified gender, less they stop getting funding.
Is the Obama administration over stepping boundaries?

Everything we do is a choice even if we have a predisposition to act one way it's ultimately our choice to succumb to it regardless of what it is. Not being able to use the bathroom or locker room they want is not oppression and is a grossly misuse of the word. The bathrooms are all the same but made to tailor to the appropriate sex. That is completely different then them getting to sent to lower funded schools and not allowed in restaurants.
If they like having rights, they'd better learn to. Because transgender people are such an extreme minority, they'll never win anything politically without non-transgender supporters, whether they like it or not.
That's a fact.

Mae fy hofrenfad yn llawn llyswennod
Funnily enough, 'eels' essentially translates to 'white court'.
"a trans (wo)man may be targetted by intolerant (wo)men" is also extra dumb considering intolerant people can be male and female. not to mention the fact that by disallowing it just creates more ostracising in the form of self important bathroom police.
i have more counter arguments but im posting slowly on mobile

This is the only serious post I'm going to make in this thread but I think that perhaps we should delete this topic and stop discussing the decisions of transgendered people like they're some type of alien that we must facilitate properly in which everyone gives their two cents instead of just treating them the same as everyone else and not making overbearing statements about them on the internet.

This is idiotic. How effective do you think the transgender community is politically by themselves? Do you think they make up a large percentage of the population?
It's a damn good thing that cisgendered people are beginning to care about this issue, because otherwise the transgender community will never make any meaningful political gains.
Do you think transgendered people like others speaking out for them constantly?

For a minute I actually believed I was in tumblr, while reading the last 2 pages

I'm pretty sure Welsh is the language you use to summon Cthulhu forth from R'leyh
I'm not going to read over every page, but this isn't a very black and white situation by any means.
I think pro LGBT people are just going to brush people off way too quickly for being against this, and assert that everyone need be accepting of transgendered folk and whatnot, but there are a lot of things which need to be considered.
1) A child is way too young to have to ask their mother why they saw the genitalia of the opposite sex in gym class, and then be expected to try to understand the sensitive nature which surrounds it.
2) Peers may feel threatened, confused, inconsiderate, etc, and as a result this could potentially ostracise a transgendered child to the point of social disharmony and/or bullying.
3) It's possible that this sort of integration could happen at a young enough age for it to skew a child's views on sex as a whole, as their first ever experience of witnessing opposite genitalia would occur before they even grasp the basic understanding of sex. Not only that, and this isn't supposed to be insensitive, but a heterosexual child may establish irrational doubts about their own persuasion.
4) Parental backlash towards schools will be absolutely huge.
With that being said, I don't really have a solution. I think this is very sensitive by nature, and I can understand why it's happening, but at the same time I think it's going to be fraught with problems.
u realise the solution to this is to not teach them that only x have y genitals. children are actually really good at learning stuff. funnily enough.
