On top of that I think he has a nightly session reset or something similar because he doesn't update the site nearly enough to account for all the logouts. Why? My best guess is that it was some weird solution he had to people hijacking sessions at one point and that he forgot to turn it off. It's odd though, that's still a crummy explanation.

Lucid uses Redis for both cache and session storage, whenever he updates the site he probably just wipes everything out in one fell swoop.
