To be fair, the mods were more of an elitist circlejerk back then than they are now, though. That hasn't been much of a problem since bronto championed it.

I believe it's all in good fun because I quite enjoy debating people. When it gets heated it just means everyone cares and isn't afraid to stick to their guns. I don't think it's as bad as you're making it.


caring about things that can't be changed isn't fun


It's fun for me when I am bored because it keeps me entertained and it helps me practice basic debating skills whether or not it's actually relevant to anything in real life
