also i was wrong about the shutdown article, butters is right, my apologies.
dems have shutdown as much as repubs, overall. regardless, it doesnt change my point that blocking policy for the sake of making the other party look bad later on for not passing any effective policy is a uniquely republican tactic
this just in, it's easier to be rich if your parents are rich, likewise it's easier to be poor if your parents are poor. Moving up economic status's is harder than maintaining your current level. more at 11
but seriously, guess which country has higher social mobility, the US or all those socialist EU countries
Kasich has an entire track record of positive influence for the country and my state. The fact that he is sensible (not for gay marriage, but will accept what the people want and has gone to gay weddings), and has done things like expanding Medicaid (something other Republicans wouldn't do) and was a part of the committee that balanced the national budget causing surplus which are reasons why I am voting for him.
It really says something that you consider someone who is against abortions for , child molested, and drugged women as your most sensible candidate.
Abortion is not on the list of most important issues. Foreign policy and the economy are 100 times more important so I don't care if he is super strict about that. The Supreme Court will continue to strike down anti-abortion laws. If social issues are what influence you most and not issues that detriment the future of our country, then maybe it says more about you.
I seriously get annoyed when people talk about the issues that are dealt with at the state level when they are talking about presidents. If you care about these issues then actually get involved with your state politics
OR BE LIKE ME AND JUST TROLL THE SERIOUS TOPIC THAT IS BEING DEBATED! WOO-HOO!
also fam, if you want to bash hilldawg, say what you will, but you cant tell me she hasnt gotten a lot done as a career politician.
yes, there have been shutdowns on both sides, and blocking of policy on both sides. absolutely. the point is that the dems are more often than not the ones pushing for progressive changes in policy that reflect contemporary needs of society, both domestically and with regards to foreign affairs of the hegemonic power of the US.
is hillary a sellout? yes, but she's also an effective policymaker, and i cant say that about Trump, Cruz, or Rubio

you literally just cited an article (incredibly dated and frankly almost irrelevant to the current era of politics at this point) that has the majority of shutdowns as conducted by a republican majority
so to recap: if you support the republican party while being aware of the republican rove strategy that has been in place for roughly two decades now, which involves doing "whatever is necessary" to seize control of the house, senate, SC, and presidency, then you are a threat to this country and i think we should deport you before you deport my gardener.

there are a lot of things wrong with the democratic party, and creating a police state may be one of them, but no, the democrats historically have never been interested in shutting down government for the sake of stopping policymaking, so that a president looks bad to the american people. the democrats are interested in getting stuff done; the repubs are interested in making a farcical game out of the entire political process, all so that they can make backhand deals with lobbyists that desire nothing more than the delay of public policymaking in their respective market/industry.
Do you even know Hillary Clinton who is one of the biggest corporate sellouts to ever exist? You are blaming republicans for being stubborn when liberals do the same exact thing, they refuse to be reasonable and will shut everything down if they dont get their way like five year olds

Remember Ronald Reagan's Star Wars program? We've spent over 400,000,000,000 on that. That's more than it would cost to implement free college. Are we shooting nukes out of the skies with our Star Destroyers yet, chief?

the dems have no strategic plan to take control of every office, and in fact, they've been reprimanded for NOT having one, as well as vocally supporting gridlock. meanwhile, on the other side of aisle, we have individuals who have literally called for congress to "not do anything" because they dont support the president.

Bernie Sanders won Colorado too, and I don't think we're chock full of poor people.

They create more outlets for you to get an alternative like all these itt tech and other trade and community colleges coming up for a cheaper alternative, but this still costs money and hard to balance with full time work. Making college unaffordable to lower/middle class just further alienates them from the upper class. It is near impossible to get a good paying job without a degree
College tuition has gone up because the federal government has been meddling in it. Colleges know they can get away with increasing tuition because they know the students can continue to get these loans.
College is a privilege - not a right.
Having a fair chance at making a decent wage shouldn't be a privilege only handed out to the lucky minority who can afford too
Bernie Sanders won Michigan because it is chock full of poor people and he outbid Hillary for giving free stuff.

and what's more, anyone who knowingly supports a party that is dedicated to dismantling democracy from its very foundations, with the intent to establish continuous ownership over the means of policymaking, is as close to being an enemy of the state as a domestic citizen can be without committing a conscious act of treason.
yes, im calling you republicans traitors.
Its funny because liberals are trying to create a police state. Both parties are awful the bipartisan system needs to be broken

Michigan voted for Bernie Sanders (a SOCIALIST). We need to invade them like we invaded Vietnam. It's time for another Red Scare.
