ive argued it elsewhere, but the long and short of it is that yes, both sides do this, but the dems have a better track record for doing what they say they will, and they are also more clever about their lying and generally more tactful at policymaking.
basically, the republicans are sadly inept and there needs to be a major shift that gets us a new conservative party, because they're a joke and trump's their worst clown yet - perhaps the one that will destroy the party
@Fred, I'm saying that bribery, coercion, power lust, etc. are all things that happen, and the petty, nationalistic idea propagated in school that somehow the U.S. is the lone country that is infallible in the face of all that is obnoxious as f/uck.
I'm also saying that it would be the reason IF he did win, which I don't necessarily think will happen. I haven't been following the scene; I've just gotten blasts of vitriol from it and the impression I have is that it wouldn't be a reputable vote if there's really any chance that Trump will win the election.
ikr, they've done a 180 and are now convinced he's so intolerable that he's actually unstoppable. i cant wait for clinton or sanders to shut him down hard on every issue. the real debates are going to be hilarious, guaranteed trump is going to fumble hard
see, the difference btwn the dem / rep debates is that one actually involves active, coherent discussion.
the difference will be stark when the real showdown happens. trump is going to look like the fool he really is
If he gets elected it'll be because his views favor the really rich people and those people have money and money can be used to control things, such as elections.
What's non-sensible about this logic? Someone tell me.
Again, I'm pretty sure most of the people on epicmafia who allegedly support trump are joking. At this point, the GENERALLY ACCEPTED views in society (at least in the U.S.) are sort of against building a wall to keep immigrants out, giving money to the rich, and outlawing abortion. I really doubt the majority of the U.S. could possibly think that way, especially individuals who have given the matter enough thought/care that they'd post on some obsolete internet forum about it.
Trump was a joke heading in and now you all want to vote for him lol, he's pulled a hitler, he's reeled you all in and made you vote for him and made you forget that he's the worst candidate possible lol
Tell me one reason thats not ''becuz hes evil :(''

Edit: I'm referring to Obama forcing people to use health care. Didn't he do that?
Glad I posted in this thread and alienated you folks, or I wouldn't have ever been convinced to look into this or listen to the viewpoint that democratics don't do the same thing republicans do. Not saying I believe it, but at least now I'm doubting myself about both groups being pretty much equally evil.
Satan, I don't actually follow this stuff and have only seen a tiny bit of it and heard accounts from other people for whom I have varying levels of respect (in regard to their accounts of the issue) but I don't know how could come to that conclusion about "the left" -- as in, an entire group -- never resorting to coercion or twisting the truth if you are so clearly on the side of one group.
Ideally, everyone would think each issue through for themselves and do their best to come to logical conclusions and hear out all sides, and the fact that something/someone has to be supported by one of these two ORGANIZED FACTIONS to have any chance to become relevant in the U.S. is not close to that ideal.
if you dont think healthcare has improved massively since Obama's plan took effect, you are either extremely rich or have never had any medical bill or issue in your life. seeing how young you are, it's likely the latter.
dude Obama has been leagues better than Bush jr. on every single issue.
and he has got a lot done for this country. people like to give obama flack, but the man has done an incredible job. try looking into the track record for his 8 years and actually learn something before you spout your parents' beliefs as your own
Obama has been bad. The health-care thing? And far more importantly, the kill list? I was pretty young when Bush was in control, and my parents certainly did not think highly of him, but Obama isn't what he claimed he was going to be either.
Also abortion isn't baby murder, it's keeping a baby from forming into a being that is evidenced to have the consciousness level of animals once they are in the world. Humans torture and kill lots of other animals constantly for unnecessary and unsustainable uses, yet people are opposed to allowing women -- many of which could not care for their children well and would have their jobs, lives, etc. obstructed by pregnancy and childbirth even if we assume they'd give their child up for adoption once it was born -- to euthanize an undeveloped embryo when there's a chance the embryo isn't yet sentient, and keep the embryo from becoming an unwanted child in a world where the population is continuously increasing and posing more and more of a threat?
if you have conservative parents, please bring up O'Reilly and his recent court decision and the domestic abuse case. If they say "We don't know both sides of the argument" then they are brainwashed.
news channels on the Left barely bash the right at all, esp. when you compare the right's only real source, FOX news, which literally spends all of its time brainwashing and bs'ing
the only type of bashing the media on the left does is exposing the lies and misinformation being spread on the other side.

giving women the rights to their own body is sensible.
the debate about when a baby becomes a living human vs. a fetus is another matter entirely, one that the would-be mother herself should decide for herself.
as for science, it is pretty clearly a part of the living mother's body until it leaves the womb, so for all purposes, the morally acceptable thing to do is to let the woman herself decide what to do with her body.
it's common sense, and most of the modern world has realized this is the only logical solution.
until the fetuses are born, they are parasites, actually they're parasites until they're 18 y/o

Okay tbh I actually should acknowledge that I didn't know the extent to which democratic views were more progressive than generally-accepted republican views.
That was my mistake, but the democratic presidents lately haven't been improvements over the republican ones, and for the fiftieth time I will assert that focus on defacing the name of the opposing party is counterproductive.
well its been proven scientifically that conservatives have an increased volume of their right amygdala (increase in fear, paranoia), while liberals have increased gray matter volume in the anterior cingulate cortex (increase in aspirational emotions, use of logic, etc).
That explains why conservatives are so irrational and don't know how to use facts to back their claims up (they use fear to make decisions) and liberals use facts (they use logic).

I guess that was mostly Orly with his claim that the stupidity of all republicans and anyone opposing his views on the subject was absolute and the primary cause of all issues with the U.S., or whatever it was he claimed.
You were just convinced I didn't know what voting was despite my repeated assertions that you hadn't understood my point.
