http://imgur.com/a/cB5km I'm trying to edit my profile and the preview is showing up correctly but my actual profile doesn't look like it does on the preview. Is this just something where I need to clear cookies or whatever or am I doing something wrong?
I literally just deleted the family and re-made it like five times until I knew it was right.
Arcbell's code worked a treat once I figured out the differences for it between PC and Mac. Someone who has no familiarity with code might struggle a little more in figuring out how to do it though.
Differs between comments and profiles/threads, actually. For comments you've got:
Bold [b][/b] Italic [i][/i] (which actually just makes text red) Image [img][/img] (note this will only work with approved upload sites) Strikethrough [s][/s] Hyperlink [url][/url]
For profiles/threads you get a limited subset of Markdown:
Surrounding text with one asterisk will make text "italic" (again; red), two will make it bold, three will make it italic and bold. Headers via # ## ### #### ##### ####### (hard to describe what each of these do; try them out in your profile preview. Just write a line of text prefixed with one to six pound symbols). Image tags work weirdly but there's built in functionality to help with that, along with numbered and bulleted lists. You can make a horizontal rule with *** or --- alone on a line. Hyperlinks are done via [Text Goes Here](URL Goes Here)
probably forgetting something.
Ummmmmmmm I don't know how to use [url][/url]. I thought that when you paste a url in EM it already turns it into a link. Also, what is the BBCode tag for making text highlighted as black and when you mouse over it you can see it?

Yeah just tested it myself, looks like it's not updating, same at the backgrounds. I'll shoot lucid an email.

Mmm... may be a bug then. I know family backgrounds are currently having issues, maybe family avis are as well :\
Clearing cache only solves the problem on personal avatars, not families. I know another family that changed their avatar like a week ago and it's still not updated.
I'll check that thread, thanks.

Why don't family avatars update properly? And how do you edit the mission?
Both family avatars and personal avatars should update as normal, but you may need to clear your image cache for the change to be visible on your computer (if you want I can explain the exact reason for this but it's a bit complex).
As for the family mission, a thread which details a couple solutions to this bug can be found here: https://epicmafia.com/topic/72486 Arcbell's solution on page 2 is likely the simplest.

What BBCode tags exist on EM?
