so like, how many of you are dating / hooking up IRL? I feel super out of the social loop here. I honestly think having met on a site like this would be a pretty cool story, relationship wise.
dedication is key & you have to meet at some point
i've been in an ldr with uprizzle for over a year, we've met once seven months ago and we're meeting again in one month. since we're not independent adults it's difficult to make meetups work. we live 10 hours apart
what makes it work short-term is that we skype every night and have movie dates via synaptop. what makes it work long-term is that we plan on going to college together and eventually getting an apartment together in our later college years.
in my experience online relationships are only ever worth it if you feel a really special connection with your SO, you have to feel like they're your other half because otherwise the passion in your relationship just won't hold up to anything and you will give up on it

i tried it on here years ago, im even still cool with the guy i was with. but honestly, i agree with soda, it's likely to not work out unless you are truly dedicated and have the financial/ways in general to meet this person. can't date your computer screen, as stated. also tbh, ive been in a relationship with someone for 2+ years irl and since i've done the online thing for about a year, here's my issues with it:
- if you fall in love, you really want to see this person but know you can't. you want to hold them or just sit down and play a board game. - even if they do visit you, it's expensive and always a mission. - you never truly know someone until you live with them. this cannot be achieved through these means.
now, don't get me wrong, im not against online dating, i just think it's a huge hassle. irl dating is just easier imo. join a local dating site and try your luck.
