CHESS TOURNAMENT #3

I am ending the tournament. This was extremely disappointing and, honestly, pathetic. I expected a much better turnout from the success of the first two chess tournaments that I hosted here, but too many people simply didn't show. Thanks to everyone who actually played or tried to, I appreciate it.

The 3rd Epicmafia Chess Tournament!

The bracket will be done at random. One signup is closed, I will create it. Games will happen in the games lobby.

When you finish your game, one of the two people who played the game (preferably the winner) MUST screenshot it and PM it to me. If you do not do this, you will not advance in the tournament. You also should PM me when your game starts just in case your opponent uses a screenshot of them winning from another occasion or something to attempt to cheat. It will be 15 minutes per player per game, countdown timer and the first person in each bracket will host the game, therefore they can choose which colour they want to play as. You MUST play on the account you signed up with. No cheating or using engines to assist you. If your opponent doesn't reply, you two never play, and you tried contacting them within a reasonable time frame before the deadline of when your match needs to be played, you will advance and they will be dropped out of the tournament.

If anyone wants to donate prizes that would be alright.

Draw via threefold repetition isn't programmed in the Chess on this website. Go by the honour system for now. If you draw in the tournament, just keep playing games until someone wins.

How to sign up: Post in this thread saying that you would like to join. For now, I'll max it out at 64 entrants, if we have less before the signup date has passed then we'll start the tournament with that many. ONLY ONE ACCOUNT PER PERSON. It is your job to arrange a time to play with the person you are matched up with.

NO CHEATING -- If you cheat in a free tournament you're a loser anyway

I really wanted to play it.Please People Dont commit to a tournament if you are not active or if you cant appear,Give others a chance.I really hate this that Giga had to end this tournament like this! He tried hard to host this and you spoilt the whole tournament.

heh, finally got around to playing our game. I managed to stall for long enough to have him run out of time one move before checkmate! But he disconnected for a couple minutes midgame, so his win :P

Tatami you will be playing RhinoSoreAss.

The bracket has been updated accordingly. Tatami/Samiksha12345, you will find an asterisk beside the name in the bracket that is currently being used for your spot. I had to switch you guys with 20JACK12 and Linker in order to advance you into the Round 2 brackets (they were both no shows so it doesn't really matter)

The winner of the chess tournament should receive a participation trophy, because that's basically all we need to do to win.

Ok I updated it as best I could. Like I said, those who initiated contact, are moving on, if the matches weren't played.

Round 2 will start TOMORROW (March 28) and matches must be done BEFORE Saturday April 2.

If you don't have a partner, good news, you get a bye.

Are the wins that showed up on the challonge bracket literally the only people that played matches?
so far yes..... it's p bad
