I'm going to post here when I can't figure out certain aspects of Java. I don't know how many of you know the language well, but help will be appreciated as I go through this bootcamp.

Java is dumbed down so that its users can't f*ck up.

You've got no memory management whatsoever which is a frequent cause of errors. Lots of features that support efficiency aren't there simply to make the language easier and quicker to code in. (All objects use references, no constant methods, few primitive types etc...)

And Javascript is horribly unorganized and messy unless you use one of its derivatives lol.

I wouldn't say that Java is easy at all. Maybe you're thinking of Javascript?

If you aren't doing programming professionally, java and python are great for you as they're both easy, high level and general-purpose.

People who code in the "other" languages don't really take C# and the .NET platform seriously even though it's super popular in certain industries.
