Have you ever wondered why village doesn't know who the cop or doctor is? Why mafia wants to kill the members of the village? and who the bad guys really are?

Here is my theory. The village is actually in a country currently in turmoil and the cop, doctor, and other village roles are actually all not from the village, but, came from the outside of the village. Mafia are actually people attempting to defend their village that they were originally from and keep the villagers from outside from destroying their original culture.

Anyone have any other theories?

In order to associate such a broad group of people like tailors with the mafia, this would mean that the experiment had to have been going on for years. Look at real-life social stratification, where steppe tribes split up and go different ways, only to clash violently in the future. The Persians and Greeks shared a father at one point. So did the Mafioso and the Villager. This means that the character you play as likely has ancestors that went through this exact same thing, over and over again. Each game is an isolated lynch mob, self-organized to "stamp out the scum in our neighborhood!"

Finally, we look at the fool. The fool who claims to be a virgin ripe for sacrifice, the fool who leads mindless villagers to hang him. The Fool is the person who's figured out the game, who realizes that it was all a trick. They're not just trying to end their lives and escape the infernal village, but to show the other villagers that they have failed.

What do we know about the village?

1. The only source of food seems to be bread.
2. Items are not sold, but given away for free.
3. People rarely work 2 jobs, and several normal professions (tailor, lawyer, miller, janitor) are associated with the mafia.

My preliminary theory is that the village is an experimental socialist gulag that has gone awry because of prejudice and lack of basic civilization.

Let's say that there's 10,000 people in the village when this experiment begins. There are specimens of every race, class, gender, religion, culture, etc. Everyone is assigned a certain role without knowing about other people's roles. (the majority of people being told that they are villagers who only work to bring wheat to the bakers.)

Let's go a step further and tell the citizens that there is a criminal underworld within the city and that it is their duty as a loyal citizen to weed them out. But here's the catch: there is no mafia.

Yes indeed, the mafia never existed at the start. Instead, it was artificially created later on. Initially, the Autocrat's job was to inspire the town to hunt down the mafia, coming up with various propaganda, telling them to be suspicious of certain people like lawyers and actresses. Soon, the discriminated groups would have to come together after being lynched. Who would have organized them?

The Mastermind.

The entire goal of the village was to create circumstances in which there is an in group and an out group without anybody knowing who was in which group beyond themselves. The Mastermind took advantage of this and brought together the disgruntled citizens to rebel against the village, driving them to a life of crime.

As fun as it is to hate on posts like this, I gotta admit I like thinking about this sort of thing.

In my mind, the village was ravaged with a violent apocalypse or some kind of collapse of society, with the mafia takeover being the nail in the coffin. I believe that by the time the game starts, the remaining villagers are so absorbed in hysteria and disorganized that they can't really even tell who is who anymore, let alone trust anybody who suggests they used to be a professional. Maybe they were all members of a riot mob who ran out of people to victimize. It would explain a few things, like why bread is practically the only food available, why you have people wearing BOMBS even before the killing starts, why the town's desperate enough to lynch virgins, and that's why we have roles like trapper, survivor, insane/paranoid cop, anarchist, and granny running around. Most thirds are people just trying to fill a bucket list of some sort before their time is done. Cult figured their audience was in a vulnerable enough state to be recruiting, Monk is attempting to have town spend their last moments in peace, etc. Everyone in town knows that deep down the end is near, an end probably involving meteors or something.

The mafia, on the other hand, might not be any organized crime syndicate at all, but perhaps maybe a group of people or a family being a bit more...proactive in ensuring their survival. That's a flimsy theory at best, though. More than likely they probably just want to finish off the town while its down and then hightail it with all their loot. You know. Like jerks.

It's not a perfect theory in any sense of the word; it doesn't explain why cc'ing is a thing or why the mafia specifically needs to be killed plus a whole bunch of other things. I always have fun thinking about the little details about this game that you gotta be a little more imaginative about and I'd really like it if others shared what they think. :D

hood x chris part 1 -

dapower stepped nervously off of the plane, taking in her first breath of Florida air. She immediately retched, having just inhaled the rancid fart of the woman in front of her. Quickly speeding by the treacherous blighter, dapower proceeded to the baggage claim area. All around her were people moving with purpose, hurrying off to meet loved ones, or for important business meetings. dapower felt very small, but mostly because she had never seen anything like this in her years as a Canadian sheep herder. She was scared.

Hi my name is Ebony Dark’ness Dementia Raven Way and I have long ebony black hair (that’s how I got my name) with purple streaks and red tips that reaches my mid-back and icy blue eyes like limpid tears and a lot of people tell me I look like Amy Lee (AN: if u don’t know who she is get da hell out of here!). I’m not related to Gerard Way but I wish I was because he’s a major hottie. I’m a vampire but my teeth are straight and white. I have pale white skin. I’m also a witch, and I go to a magic school called Hogwarts in England where I’m in the seventh year (I’m seventeen). I’m a goth (in case you couldn’t tell) and I wear mostly black. I love Hot Topic and I buy all my clothes from there. For example today I was wearing a black corset with matching lace around it and a black leather miniskirt, pink fishnets and black combat boots. I was wearing black lipstick, white foundation, black eyeliner and red eye shadow. I was walking outside Hogwarts. It was snowing and raining so there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A lot of preps stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them.

“Hey Ebony!” shouted a voice. I looked up. It was…. Draco Malfoy!

“What’s up Draco?” I asked.

“Nothing.” he said shyly.

But then, I heard my friends call me and I had to go away.
