Anyone else notice the mod team just changed it to cover their tracks of bad moderation. Why didn't they tell us?...should everyone with a hate comment be unbanned because former/current mods didn't even know what a hate comment was? So unprofessional..yet so typical.
TO THE MODS:
Be productive and actually talk about something site relevant in the moderator chat, and come up with ACTUAL GUIDELINES behind a HC. The way things are being handled right now is honestly just ridiculous.
We have these mods just throwing violations left and right and its pretty crazy if you go back and look at some reports. Its like they are just trying to fly though the reports to get them done and see one or two words and say 'HATE COMMENT!' not looking at the context, not looking at really anything.
It seems most of you moderators are new or maybe not as involved, and I know its probably not a fun job..and a lot people may not like you. The RESPONSIBILITY of a moderator is to maintain a FAIR and enjoyable experience..im rambling..but it is not fair to any player to have these vague descriptions of what someone may think a HATE COMMENT is. This is just bad moderation, bad moderation drives away new players which hurts the site..obviously.
I'm just maybe trying to provoke some thought, sorry if you feel I'm being to harsh...but this is the complaint thread after all. I'm sure you moderators are good people, and have common sense. I'm sure you know mafia is a competitive game, and people may get frustrated from time to time. Ultimately its you guys who enforce the rules...this is simply a rant. In my opinion, it would just be nice to see some leniency in moderation differentiating actual HATE/DEMEANING SPEECH from SWEARING.
Feel free to state your opinion, but really the big thing I'm trying to get at is fair moderation..and I think the HC topic is one that is LONG past due to being addressed for everyones sake.

Don't post again.

why

One solution would be for the community to grow up and stop reporting people for stupid HC vios.
It's like AIDs. One person gets a HC vio, and the first opportunity they have to report someone for a stupid HC they do it..never ending cycle.
The better solution would be for the mods to actually do something about it because god knows the community will never change.
Couldn't have said it better. No one is being banned or punished for ideas. It IS common knowledge that some words are slurrs and are to be avoided in polite society. If you do not know that then you must have been living in a cave fot a thousand years or more.

It's not like I can report anyone either, every violation I report is told by a mod "I'll just delete it!!" or "Ignore it." and when I report again and I'm threatened by getting a report spam violation.

I don't even care for getting an HC violation for standing up for my religion's beliefs.

I'd like for you to answer my second post if you want to.
Didn't read the OP but there is the definition you can close the thread now. lol

It's like the person who reported me was banned from the lobby from that account and their alts so their lobby camping right there, and the same person made the "Men > Women" thread multiple times and received no violation for sexism.

(one last thought)
If I had my way, this is how I would do things.
Harassment: EXCESSIVE name calling after being told to STOP. (r-word belongs here)
Hate Comment: A hate placed comment based off race/sex/religion. (n-word belongs here)
Someone thinks that if the mod team hands out enough vio's the word 'rttard' will suddenly vanish from the English language.
That approach of moderation is completely absurd.

I don't really think the rule change really changes anything at all. I've really said everything I wanted to say tho. Really I think anyone reading the post will see what I'm getting at.
Moderators have no interest in entrapping users with new rule changes. We saw the rule change as necessary and implemented it. That's all there was to it.
In the whirlwind of recent events, making an announcement was lost in our discussions. I've made one now.

Someone just changed the rule..lol. Not like moderators fairly enforced the original HC rule anyway. "covering tracks", sneaky, I never seen an announcement about a rule change to the HC rule?. If there was one please direct me.
Moderators are just expecting all these things to be common knowledge to everyone? Honestly, how unprofessional can you get?
It's like you guys don't even care about new players at all, and not even the current mod team..its been this way for a long while.
I just don't understand why the sneaky rule change (considering its the most controversial rule on the site.) Mod team didn't think maybe it deserved some sort of announcement, or maybe a public sticky on the forums?..do you not care about player feedback at all.
