Reading these giant paragraphs is exhausting can you put some hot babe pics in your blocks of text every once in a while so my eyes can take lil breaks?
Loreli, I sincerely (no sarcasm i promise) appreciate your comments . I'm guessing that you can see that I am a completely different person from the Forums and in-game. I take on the persona of being pushy because I have gotten pushed on many times as both town and maf when I do not. I use it as a way to generate reads because it is usually quite effective. That's the thing though, my behavior is not any different from many of the "pros." I only started to play Comp games a month ago and I had to find my way of towntelling. Of course, I looked to emulate the play of prominent players who tend to be pushy and quite assertive.
If you can see from my posts, I am not just criticizing you, I am criticizing many people's play - myself included and I am looking for a solution to these issues. You make me seem like the villain who makes games unenjoyable, but the truth is that you do not do anything to make it enjoyable yourself.
@togepi Yup. Mentors are here to teach people that are willing to take criticism.
@CCCA A) I counterpastebinned a guy that got banned as an unknown literally last round. I've also never pastebinned anyone that hasn't later admitted to cheating. Don't lump me in with the paranoids here. B)I don't favour anyone's reads unless I agree with them. This might surprise you, but I don't blindly follow. C)this is more of a cause->effect kind of thing. If you Lynch someone telling them that you're going to Lynch their scumread and then don't, you probably deserve whatever's flung at you.
As for continuing to play comp, be my guest. If you do want to improve that's the only way it'll happen.
Could I mentor just so my account avatar gets more attention than it already does? I don't plan on mentoring anyone, so it will just be my avatar on the "Moderator" page with no one next to it.
Loreli, you exemplify everything that i have been trying to draw attention to. My posts are a culmination of frustrations that have occurred for the past month or so.
Here are some problems of mine with the site:
a) The amount of people that are being accused of cheating simply because they are new and lack experience in comp b) The blatant favoritism to older players' reads and the elitism of both Comp and EM in general. c) The decision by most players to criticize rather than try to help them.
There are measures such as the Mentor System which I think will be successful in recruiting more players and making EM a more acceptable environment, but in its current state, it's a very Hobbesian place.
lol, I'm going to continue playing Comp games. I'm going to learn a lot more by playing Comp than FP
Certain things being obvious to some people and other things obvious to other people isn't an issue, it's what makes the game fun. If people explain their logic and compare it with other peoples logic THATS the analytical game we come here to play.
CCCA, I believe that you earnestly want to improve and think that the best way to do that is be as assertive as possible, but imagine for a second a game full of people acting like you. Isn't that the most unenjoyable clusterf*** of a thought? That's what other people are experiencing in your games. Being assertive is a good step forward, but you're going overboard. If you want to be 2016s pranay, keep going. Otherwise rein it in and try to focus on the other areas of your game.
