A majority of my games so far have been pretty unpleasant and I'm not sure if there's a solution.
In one of my games I was revealed as a town role and had people refuse to want to really play accordingly because I'm newer and don't have an avatar. Then I wound up getting shot by a gifted gun during the day after being naked.
The next game I noticed two people chatting a lot in the pre-game lobby and didn't think much of it. When the game started I was mafia with one of them and just randomly picked a player to kill with someone else who just happened to be a friend of theirs I guess. After killing them the two friends including a mafia teammate wound up outright leaving.
The next game on the first day one of the two players immediately left again and someone inquired as to why and the other replied "she left because there's too many noavis"
That player immediately re-hosted and then kick/banned me from the lobby. I just assume it's because I don't have an avatar.
Overall it's been pretty trying to play the game even in the 'casual' games or whatever because of the amount of hate you get for being new.

I made the file 100x100 pixels. Maybe some day I'll upgrade from black to a better color.

well, good. everyone makes the mistake saying "get an avi" when the REAL cancer to this website is uncropped avis. make sure yours has the right proportions

I'm doing my best to get an acceptable avatar Blister lol
get rid of the black bars. make it 100 x 100 size. having an uncropped avatar is actually worse than having no avatar at all.

Yeah most of the times I've seen people type stuff about 'noavi' it's been an obvious joke. I've also met and played some great games too, but like anything it's the sour experiences that stick out.
I've uploaded just a black avatar so maybe that will help. It seems sort of silly to me that I'd need to do that to increase the quality of my games but c'est la vie.
@Oksus I don't really know anyone so I try not to barge into others' conversations and in game I am very aware that I'm the newb of the team so I try to just take in what other people are doing and consider what my best play would be given the scenario. This often leads me to not talking too much.
I'm not upset in games where I could get targeted based on how I play like not talking often or other meta-plays based on being a noob. I would just rather not have someone outright leave in an unranked game and then kick/ban me just because I'm new to the game.
