A majority of my games so far have been pretty unpleasant and I'm not sure if there's a solution.
In one of my games I was revealed as a town role and had people refuse to want to really play accordingly because I'm newer and don't have an avatar. Then I wound up getting shot by a gifted gun during the day after being naked.
The next game I noticed two people chatting a lot in the pre-game lobby and didn't think much of it. When the game started I was mafia with one of them and just randomly picked a player to kill with someone else who just happened to be a friend of theirs I guess. After killing them the two friends including a mafia teammate wound up outright leaving.
The next game on the first day one of the two players immediately left again and someone inquired as to why and the other replied "she left because there's too many noavis"
That player immediately re-hosted and then kick/banned me from the lobby. I just assume it's because I don't have an avatar.
Overall it's been pretty trying to play the game even in the 'casual' games or whatever because of the amount of hate you get for being new.
Yeah we played that word guessing game together a couple of times, I'm glad you liked it :) I send you a friend request, if you want to you can accept it. If you do so, we can see it in the lobby when the other person's also online. (It's the section under 'activity'). Then I can try to join your game, or you can try to join mine. Feel free to decline the request of course :)
Thanks for the reply LadyNemesis. I think I played some weird word guessing game a couple times with you earlier - it was fun. I have added one guy who I enjoyed playing with, I usually just keep my banter to a minimum and communicate as little as possible though. I have signed up in the mentor program but I can't use Skype ATM though as my computer is broken and my current one can barely run Google Chrome and crashes pretty often even if I'm just playing Mafia so skype is a no-go.
People usually take unraked less serious than ranked, although when you're lucky you can find really nice unranked tables. If you stumble upon one of these tables, add those people as friends and try to play more games with them.
Ranked is usually taken a bit more seriously. Don't worry if you lose - if you show that you're trying and are willing to learn, I'm sure you will find players that absolutely don't mind playing ranked games with you.
I don't really enjoy playing with new players who aren't trying at all, but if someone IS trying then it's all fine by me that they don't know everything yet. And I'm just happy to help. I'm sure that counts for more players!
You can also find yourself a mentor if you want. If you join the mentor program you can, if you want, also join a mentor/mentee chat on skype. You can surely find some players there too who would love playing games with you.
How do you report people for game throwing? I suggested a day 1 lynch as mafia and because I didn't change my vote the first day a fellow mafia member immediately outted the entire mafia team and himself to the game saying we tried to kill his friend.
This is the 3rd time it's happened in the last 2 days involving the same person as well
Well I don't take the game too seriously I just don't want to be "that guy" that single handedly loses his team the game consistently. I've already done it a few times and felt pretty silly afterwards in retrospect. I appreciate the insight and hope we end up in a lobby together sometime :)
No, harodihg, don't feel bad playing them. You seem kinda level headed from your posting style you'll already be above the average player. Just jump right in.
You get more lives at midnight, also make an alt for extra hearts.

I'm out of lives for ranked and I also felt a bit bad playing them as I'm 7-16 now on record and pretty terrible. I understand that the only way I'll get better is to play more but I should probably do that in unranked for a bit I'd imagine. When/how do I get more lives btw?
