Would you guys like it if there was another lobby for ONLY competitive games (orange hearts) and leave read hearts to this lobby? It used to be like this a long time ago, and I am just wondering.
Here are my arguments for it:
Honestly if the lobby was brought back, the strength of the competition would be great increased. There will be the basic step between training and competitions. There is a possibility that the round count may drop, but you have to think about multiple things.
1.) Some (probably a lot) of people are only clicking to join the round and are barely competing.
2.) Now that there was a massive group of new players introduced to orange hearts, they will go into the new (old) competitive lobby to play more.
3.) Those who only play red hearts will still only play red hearts. Thus, the red heart players will be happy to have filtered out of the orange heart games. Also, the orange heart player will, once again, have their own lobby and don't have to filter out the annoying red heart setups.
4.) Now that the mentoring lobby is revamped and seemingly more active, it is another source where new players can be introduced to the competition.
5.) I bet there will be a number of older players (whether active or not currently) that will start playing more orange hearts with the sudden change.
Obviously I'm not going to say this will even have a chance of happening. I just want to know what everyone would think if this were to happen again.
i know a lot of people feel strongly about this but i'm neutral leaning towards yes.
i think that competitive has been in training lobby a long time and plenty of new players have grown into it and the "scary" factor has been turned down by a lot.
because of that, if competitive came back a lot more players would be active compared to just 150 people joining the competition. also to be completely honest it'd be easier because theres no point limit to join competitive if you make the alt in the competitive lobby. goodbye fancy pants farming you won't be missed
++ it'd be easier to fill comp games because they won't be flooded by fancy pants games before and after the hosted game. i miss those party games too, they're a distant memory because they just get to page two in main lobby. then again, new faces will be more hesitant to join competitive if we do the split again. it's probably easier to just not change
i'm impartial because i don't play games at all but one thing i would say is that when the lobbies merged there was a greater diversity within the mod team which was previously made up of a majority of comp players and "training" mods were often dismissed
i think that the diverse mod team works great and it's cool that new/sandbox and red heart players are getting a shot now but i would hate for it to revert back to what it was a couple of years ago

Have an automated quiz that they have to fill out to enter the new setup.
"It's jan 2.0 and the cop is cc'd, what do"
"one guy just claimed 5 minutes late, do you nl because it's d1"
"this setup isn't multi setup, and isn't fancy pants, what do"
"okay so if you're not playing fancy pants and you're mafia, what do"
wrong because there is no set strategy and you do not have to play the same way every time
