I wouldn't say anything is particularly wrong with it, I'd even say that I enjoyed it. Its just the plot got in the way of the characters. The show didn't need all the plot it tried to put into it and what it put into it wasn't enough to be particularly interesting. The large cast of characters compounded this with having to spend time on lots of characters that rarely showed up. Definitely worth the watch though, but I'd probably recommend something like Barakamon in its place. Also I stalked through your plan to watch, can't stress enough to prioritize Mononoke, Paranoia Agent, and Aoi Bungaku (especially the first story No Longer Human.)
decided I'd make one. Not sure if I missed anything but yeah, haven't watched too much. I didn't bother including the million animes that I only watched the first 1 or 2 episodes of otherwise I'd be there all day :D

Tokyo Ghoul season 1 definately ended on a... weird note. I understood that it was Kaneki giving into his ghoulish side in a method similar to the novel 1984, but I'm not sure if it was good or bad, but I still have so many questions. Is season 2 really that terrible?
