Sims, you have a very broad definition of the word rudeness. Rytis was simply stating that owl's understanding of the situation was wrong. He even provided proof to supplement his claim. You responded by saying that you "didn't like his attitude" and then refused to respond. That is lazy and irrational moderation.

If someone's genuinely upset as something as emotionally discomforting like one of their good friends being banned from a site they're naturally going to act boorish, that's the way people are. This isn't the first time a lack of patience has been exhibited and you DEFINITELY aren't the only one or even the worst offender, I was just looking through the first few pages of that thread. I don't have an opinion on the issue.

WasntTrying, maybe you should just understand that it's really not the right time. Furthermore, that quote you just linked - That was directly targeted at the person who has been compromising everyone's accounts.
i'm always willing to help out people who help me help them. if you're rude to me when I'm trying to help you, you aren't benefiting anyone, especially yourself.
also lukageo was banned for a pretty good reason, so the problem solved itself

I am done venting, but I hope the mod team can see that my intentions are nothing but good and I don't really want to instigate anything. Trying to put this as politely as possible, there's a reason a lot of people don't like the team.
I think that voter participation has slowed. I strongly encourage all users to invite friends and other EM users to vote in this poll. Get the word out!

Using adblock is a violation of the rules and should lead to a ban.
I personally do not use adblock so, according to that logic, my opinion is more important.

The bottom line is really that the ideal mod should be emotionally competent and patient enough to reply to upset people slinging not-so-nice words around with care. You could argue that you're just volunteering and not being paid, but you're volunteering for a position that requires LOTS of decorum and careful interaction... like most mods on other sites.
All members essentially pay through their viewing of the advertisements. It all provides revenue to the site
Many of the attacks directly at owl were actually rational arguments rather than abuse. However, if owl feels that he is being abused he could ban users who are abusing him as that is a violation of the rules.
If you don't like moderating the site correctly don't be a moderator
