List of compromised accounts

deletedalmost 10 years

Currently, a bunch of accounts are compromised due to hidden linking. I'm making this topic to make a reference on who all got compromised. If you're viewing this topic and your account was compromised, then the best thing I'd recommend is to just make a new account for now.

It's the internet - people should know not to give away privileged information like that.

For the non-tech person, they wouldn't know how privileged this information really is.

Which brings us to my third point.

The only one the strike would annoy is the userbase.

Thats the sheeple that give lucid his drug money for the month

Actually in that pic what is he asking the people to do, that seems to complicated for me to care enough to do all that

It's as well known as it can be.

It's the internet - people should know not to give away privileged information like that.

All they had to do was click on the profile of the person phishing them to realise that it wasn't a real moderator.

Of course I blame the idiot behind all this.

And yes I'm sad that Lucid isn't doing more to help.

Maybe you indeed should all go on a strike.

Owl, that only proves that the whole issue is NOT that 'well known'. And that you can therefor hardly blame the ppl being compromised.
It's easy to blame the victims, why not blame the one who's actually DOING it instead and also point out that the security must suck if it's that easy? The fact that it's in the second week and that Lucid hasn't done a thing only gives me the impression he doesn't care.
An angry kid and an admin that doesn't care are, in my book, more to blame than the people thinking they're getting a legit message from a moderator. The only thing you can blame them of is being a little naive. On the other hand, how often did the mods on this site request people to hand over skype logs? It's not that much of a stress that they would ask for some kind of cookie log or whatever either.

qeSuited!?!??!?!?!??!?!!??!??!?!??!??!??!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!
Edit: But I don't see him compromised, how?
Edit 2: And vilden as well... what are you trolling, Silh, I don't see so many people compromised.

Just give Mods an icon near their names in PMs and everywhere else, not just forums. Like a verified check mark kinda similar to what Twitter has.

Whilst I agree it would be beneficial, you're also overlooking the fact that newer users wouldn't be aware of this feature, and thus would be happy to submit whatever information they've been submitting until this point.

If you look at the list of compromised accounts, they're not all new users though. Adding this feature would at least help to some degree with this problem.

This is why I think it would be beneficial. I'm just saying that it won't cut the problem completely. In all honesty, the site just needs TLC from lucid. There's no other way around this.

Owl, it's the first day I'm aware of how bad it actually is. And I do kinda regularly read announcements. So. Yeah. Well.

I don't know... I guess with you never opened the inbox you'd never get caught. If they don't read announcements, then why the inbox?

OR people could stop opening pm's from unknown sources.

A message from someone you think is a mod isn't an unknown source

I also don't blame mods. I am sure that mods won't send a PM to me with any threat of ban. They're banning players for rule violations or suspicion of doing so even if the matter is unexplained. They never hold the account without suspension/ban and then tell us that they're suspicious of us using hacks etc.
